Why selling of slots of ott services is not allowed in DesiDime ?

Just like in the initial days of Snapdeal and in the same way as Slickdeals... the premise of starting DediDime was to ONLY be a coupons, deal sharing platform.

There was no time for and NO NEED for police-ing.

Just a generic disclaimer that we (the site) are not promoting anything in particular and 'caveat emptor' (let the buyer be aware and beware).

Despite  👆🏽that👆🏽 there was too much (toooooooo much) RR.

Haay main lut gaya, main barbaad ho gaya type RR. Pehle bhi hota tha, abb bhi bahot hota hai.

Sometimes, despite it not being their direct headache, the site (actually the company behind DesiDime) employed/ deployed its own resources (time, money, manhours, manpower) to do troubleshooting, negotiating, investigations.. ki भई.. hamarey chuninda चुनिंदा Dimers ka nuksaan ho gaya hai. We must try to help.. is what the (DesiDime) management thought/did.

Irrespective of whether they thought so ... or did it for their own goodwill... the fact remains that.. time, money, efforts went into and go into trying to resolve any DISPUTES.

That is why, they (DesiDime or its parent company) NEVER acted as collateral in any unofficial trading or private deal making that went on between Dimers (DesiDime members) too.

Look buddy, any average company can (on an average) have a 10-12% CAGR (compounded annual growth rate).

Jo firms.. dedicated RR solve karne kaa hee kaam karti heiN (pirate ship hostage negotiators, loan recovery agencies etcetera) .. earn much much more than an average 'going concern', company.

Idhar mein apun ko .. lafda nahin maangta hai baap.

Then too, to please the regulars (and the cry-babies) they (the management behind DesiDime) gave in.. to the demands of at-least one sub-section of the site and/or the forums actually.. to be there.. where one can openly solicit such activity.

And even a blind person can see, that the RR from that section (trading and classifieds section) STILL🤦🏻‍♂ spills over to the other sections of the sites (or the forums).

And even a deaf, mute, dumb, blind person can know that even in such (officially allowed) on-site trading activities.. the management is regularly asked to play police, judge.

The people DEMAND (not request, but literally command the management) that the intra-Dimer communications (private messages) be read, reviewed, analysised and then the results be presented back on the forum... by the management.

ALL THIS... while the platform is expected to not only remain free for use, but also not have in-house Adbots or external advertising.

In light of all this, the COMPLETE and UNENCUMBERED decision (and rights) of what they want to disallow (or allow) rightfully rests with the site management.

Despite not having enough resources (and sometimes the willingness) to piecemeal monitor every private chat, every open post in the classifieds section.. the management still has allowed many things, as per policy.

.

They regularly even have (unstructured) policy exceptions. Just to keep the regulars (regular users) pleased, happy.. the management often does not take action.. even on the policy violations.

.

And that could range from anything like fake accounts, abusing the management, personally targeting the staff, honorary volunteers (moderators) to even outright fraud, wilful deceit.

Selling of accounts (or 'he is my friend, we are sharing) and many such things might have been disallowed 'on paper'. I do not know, just assuming here.

.

And well, the range of issues.. that come with the source and ways in which accounts or credits are procured.. are good enough reason.

(For the management to not add to the existing barrage  of unending RR) .

In-fact, instead.. there should be a poll like.

Shouldn't  the access to Trading and Classifieds sub-forum be only for those with a PAID subscription, just like it is.. for the merchant hub?

(Needless to add, any shenanigans outside of the 'Trading and Classifieds' sub-section of the forum, should automatically give the management.. the rights to surgically remove the gonads of the errant entity).

Do you know of many websites doing this reliably for a long term?

I remember splitsub becoming very popular, they got pulled from App Store, websites closed too.

This is a grey area which will cause DD to face legal issues from big OTT players.
