Studies in St. Paul’s High School in Hyderabad right from Nursery to X grade.

Being crazy about Nintendo and Sega video games during my childhood, the video games parlour (that was. a ’90) near our school named Alice always fascinated me.

As soon as the school bell rang I used to rush to that place to play a game or two before the autowala dragged me out and drop me back home

As I wasn’t able to get enough of video gaming a wicked thought sparked in my mind. Our school used to issue lunch pass for kids living nearby so that they can go home, have their lunch and come back to school on time. The process was simple – get a letter written by your parents addressing the principal, get it signed by the principal and then take it to the library to get the pass issued.

So the devil in me made me write the letter on my own, forge my dad’s signature and the principal’s signature too! I could successfully food the librarian get the lunch pass. Used that pass to go out in lunch break and play video games for 40 minutes each day right until I got caught!

One of our teachers knew me well and accidentally noticed that I used to go out every day during lunch break. She became suspicious of me and it seems that she followed me to that video games shop for 3 days to confirm what I was doing. One fine day, after the school, I found my parents waiting to pick me up. I was quite shocked as it never really happens as I was in 8th grade by then.

Dad and mom took me into my classroom saying they have to meet my teacher and then began the spanking! I was bashed verbally left, right and centre and taken to the principal as well later for the mischief. Luckily I was neither expelled nor punished beyond that, they let go of me with a serious warning.

Can never forget that day, was quite embarrassing for a very long time!
