Airtel Modem Buying Help Please

So my modem is restarting again and again randomly and technician says I need to get a new modem since it has become faulty.

I was till now using Beetel 220BX1 but now I am thinking of buying a wifi router modem since I may get good deals online (although I use internet only on my PC and Connectify software hotspot and dont actually need a wifi router). Any recommendation of deals on good ADSL2+ modem router under 2k? Only for a 2 BHK, so i think a single antenna 5db power will be sufficient? 150mbps bandwidth is sufficient.

Thanks.

i would suggest you to buy beetel routers only. I have personally going through this. I am currently using Asus router and airtel technicians failed to provide needed support for the problem. Telephonic support goes completely blank when they hear u r using different modem than beetel.

If you want to use airtel internet smoothly go for beetel they is also no point of purchasing costly routers of 2k because airtel itself doesn’t provide such 150 mbps here in India. Range is almost the same max plan you can take is 8mbps or 16mbps, so no point of buying costly netgear or other routers.

i would also like to suggest you to buy from airtel only because in future also if modem get faulty u don’t have to go anywhere airtel itself will replace or repair the router at your doorstep.

Hope this information will help.

Thanks

i think airtel stopped replacing modem/routers long back… they ask u to buy a new one from them or outside or get it repaired from the service center… Tenda and TP-Link work gr8 with Airtel…

I have been told by airtel technician that he has done tests and that I should not buy TP-Link.
Any experiences?

i recently dumped airtel for MTS but TP-Link worked gr8 with airtel… My friend is using Tenda with airtel and is happy with it…

Airtel techies are underpaid inefficient people who don’t know how to configure basic routers except Binatone/Beetle on which they have been trained… so they will say anything to avoid setting up routers bought by users…

there are good deals on AZ for tplink for some 700 bucks pretty stable router using it for past 6 months kept it open area in balcony and no problems. wait for purchasing expensive 300mbos and usb connnect routers. the prices will fall after the 4G war starts in feb and would get a better deal then.

then in that case, can anyone suggest which non TPLink Modem (not router) will be fine for airtel, since i just use internet on computer.
