FASTag must be pasted to the windshield and therefore not portable. Every vehicle must have its own FASTag irrespective of whether it goes through toll plaza every day or only once a year. If it was like a metro card, one family will require only one card or even frieds can use the same card. But in its present form, every verhicle needs its own FASTag. In order to work, it must be first loaded with value. So the FASTag operator gets interest free deposit without giving any guarantee.
A minimum of Rs.500 per vehicle. No calculate the number of vehicles in India. Then multiply by 500. As of 2016, there were more than 23 Cr registered vehicles. That must be now around 30 Cr. So the total money involved is 1500 Cr. or more.
If they only wanted auto deduction, they would have made it possible to link it to a bank account without the need to preload and also made it like a metro card, portable that can be used by any holder.
That is the real scam of FASTag.

Baat mein dum hai, but toll payment keliye jo line lagti hai, usme bahut jayada dum hai…..

Toll should be removed permanently……

The transport association has already offered govt one time down payment (paid from their own pockets) to remove tolls, they say they waste loads of Diesel due to queues at toll gate
