i am about to complete me B.E in computer engineering within 2 months, currently i am getting a job from TCS and my marks in gate are not good(only 35) i also gave cat just to try without any preparation and got 119(95 percentile)
i have two options either do the job with TCS or drop one year and prepare for CAT and GATE again and do masters in a good college, i am confused about what i should do, thing is if i get into job right now i don’t think that i would be able to go for study again, also should i go for any mid tier college instead of waiting for a year for good colleges
please help

Telling from personal experience of working for 9+ years in IT industry: Go for MBA and that too from a good college or else after 10 years you will be looking for ways to increase your salary.
Don’t think TCS would be offering you more than 4 LPA as a fresher. So, if you’ve financial support from your family then drop 1 year and prepare hard and go for MBA.
That is what i am thinking, if i start with TCS (3.36 Lakhs CTC) even after 5 years i would barely be able to get 10-15 lpa so i don’t want to start from there, i have support from family for 1 year so i think i can risk it.
On a side note: It looks like nothing has changed from salary given to freshers in last 10 years.
I got placed in Infy in 2008, got offer letter for 3.25 LPA in 2009. Started working since 2010 and now in 2019, still freshers are getting 3.36 LPA.

- either CAT or GATE . Why go for both preparation ? first decide which field you should go for ,not just for a master degree .
- some people suggest to for for job for 2-3 year then one year preparation(optional) then CAT and MBA. job experience counts .
- If you aim for good PSU job then GATE preparation is good to go for.
