Children’s Day is just round the corner. So, here are some suggestions on what you can gift the kids this year, apart from the usual clothes and toys.
Up to 3 Years Old
This is the age when parents and their family are buying kids all kinds of stuff almost every day. And mostly, the chances are s/he will not even remember it when they grow up. So, while they already have all those cute clothes and huge soft toys and the noisiest toys; here are some different gifts that are as much fun as they are useful for the cute, little devils.
Magformers Building Set
These are not your regular building blocks. The Magformers Building set has brightly coloured magnetic tiles of various shapes, allowing the kid to get much more creative as a young architect. This brand makes building sets for kids ranging from 0 to 7 years.
Magformers My First New Colours Set, Multi Color (54 Pieces)
Magna-Tiles Magnetic Building Toys, Clear Colors Set, Multi Color (48 Pieces)
A Toy Vehicle
While all the other kids in the neighbourhood have a regular tricycle, a toy jeep or sports car is definitely going to be a winner.
Fun Spoons And Plates
After the baby turns one, it becomes a task to get them to drink their milk and eat proper food everyday. One way to make them eat and teach them some table manners is to get them some fun cutlery, plates and bottles as gifts.
A Singing Toothbrush
Dental hygiene is yet another tough cookie to crack with toddlers. A toothbrush that sings might just make it easier. This toothbrush plays a song for 2 minutes, as recommended by dentists, so the kid knows how long s/he is supposed to brush.
Children love doodling. Indulge them with a box of crayons, which can be easily washed off from clothes as well as surfaces.
4-10 Years Old
After they start getting older and start making demands of their own, you don’t really have to think what gift to give your kids on their birthdays or on Children’s day. It’s pretty much what they have been asking for, almost every hour for the past few weeks. However, if they already have “the new doll or the latest video game” here are some other options that might make them forget what they want, for a few weeks at least.
A Writing Tablet
For the older kids, you can get a writing tablet to keep them from doodling on your textured walls and lovely carpets. You can write on this tablet as many times as you want and wipe it in a single flick. It also saves a lot of paper, and it can be used as a message board once the kids grow out of it. That is, if it escapes undamaged.
Stuffed Toys or Figures Of Cartoon Characters
Be it Ben-10, Pokemon, or Minions; get your little tyke a stuffed toy, figure or plush doll to add to the collection set of any of their favourite cartoons, and see them smiling ear to ear.
A Skating Set (5-12 years)
If your kid is already bored with his/her cycle, a pair of roller blades is going to get them jumping up and down with mad joy. Yes, they’re going to get a few scrapes and cuts in the process of learning to skate, but that’s childhood. Also, this is one more way to unglue the kids from their video games and TV sets, and get them to play outdoors. Of course, you will have to set down some rules as to when and where the skates will be allowed.
Unique Lego Figures or Lego Games
While you can get regular action figures for a kid any day, but legos are fun because you can build them yourself. And if your little one has any favourite characters, s/he will love to have a Lego version of it any day. You can choose from the vast variety of Lego sets available for kids of all ages.
An Illustrated Book
Inculcating the habit of reading is one of the best gifts that you can give a kid, and an illustrated book is one of the best ways to go about this. As the saying goes- There is no friend as loyal as a book; you will be giving the child a companion for life with this gift, while ensuring that their knowledge and understanding of life goes beyond the world they live in or have access to. Today there are illustrated books available for kids of all ages, you can take your pick. If the child is already fond of reading, you can introduce them to a new genre, maybe. http://www.amazon.in/children-books/b/ref=nav_s...
Harry Potter And The Chamber of Secrets Hardcover-Illustrated
Fun in Devlok Omnibus
Pashu- Animal Tales From Hindu Mythology
A Remote Controlled Robot
For kids, who are too much in to sci-fi, a robot is going to be one of the best gifts of them for a long time. And like other toys; the bigger, the better.
A Unique Peice of Clothing
Kids love wearing unique things. Actually that is the only age when you can pull off the weirdest attires, without feeling too self-conscious. So, encourage a child’s individuality by gifting them something unique like this monster purple hoodie with matching mittens and boot covers…
or this Rasta Imposta monster hoodie…
or this minion costume hoodie.
