I don’t have a second account. I don’t need one. Try getting that into your head

I’m well aware of the difference between DRAM and flash based storage and their respective roles in the memory and storage hierarchy. I’ve even heard about Optane

Why don’t you just post a link that proves any of your three points? Go ahead post it and humour me. Pretty please?

If you had any inkling you wouldn’t have butt in like a squirrel in a discussion of SSDs from enapster who doesn’t have any clue whatsoever. You even showed off your enormous stupidity by actually bringing in proof to my statements and yet crying over it like as if I called your face, an *.

Flash storage is going mostly to mobile devices and not to data centers even today. Here, let me quote an industry insider who will also back up my claims which even you, in your enormous intellectual ability, could not comprehend. Study the whole article. I’m not gonna spoon feed you more.

[I’m] bullish on SSDs, as SSDs can do things with performance and latency that HDDs cannot. But I’m also bullish on HDD, because HDD can do things that SSD cannot – store large amounts of colder data cheaply.

This is an error I see frequently. Yes, SSDs can actually achieve higher storage density than HDD. But they have fundamental economic problems trying to scale production to the level needed to satisfy the demand for storage, and as a result they will be primarily used in the applications that require performance, leaving the bulk data storage, coldish storage, and archival to HDD, which HDD still does better than tape.

Hats off to you for having idiots love you.

Wow, that’s so pathetic! Is this the best you could do? It shows the level of your intellectual ability and comprehension. We are talking about storage in 2019 and …
1) First you quote an article that’s more than 2 years old. Do you even know what’s happened in the storage tech industry and storage market in the last 2 years?
2) Second, instead of providing industry statistics to back up your claim, you provide an opinion piece in the the Register
3) Thirdly the “industry insider” is basing his opinion on 2015 shipment statistics
4) Best of all the opinion piece is by some “industry insider”, who is so gutless that he or she chooses to remain anonymous

Everything I gave you was from 2018/2019. And all of it backs up what enapster was saying and not what you claimed

enapster was right, in his previous comment. It’s pointless trying to educate you or debate with you because you obviously can’t understand what you are reading

So I repeat once again:
I dare you to produce an article from 2019 that backs up your three ridiculous claims

And before you make some ridiculous assertion that I’m changing goalposts go back and see what I originally requested you to do
