Before DD I had no idea why things happened. I mean I have been dealing with online entities since the 1980’s and seen a lot fo T&C’s and solving problems etc.. But I started seeing some really unfriendly moves by the likes of Amazon etc and wondered what happened.. Coming to DD I find out all the ways people take advantage of the likes of Amazon policies to make a few bucks.. Where as before I could just return anything and get a refund to the card rather than in amazon pay, now I am stuck with stipulations and only returns or exchanges etc.. I have returned stuff with no bill of sale and things like that. Big sales at certain times of the year are common in the US and you can buy from like Amazon and if the same item is sold in target, you can take it back to target and get money back. Only item is required. no bill no ID or anything else.. Yes they knew you did not buy it there but they figured half the people would use that funds to buy stuff since you were at the store and made money that way.. Getting people into the store is considered a HUGE marketing endeavor and they spent huge sums of money to do so.

But no longer does this work.. Because people would walk into the store pick up an item and take it to the return counter and ask for a refund. It worked like this for over 50 years but a few people destroyed it in a few years. It costs amazon a few 100 rs for something like this as well as all the tracking issues and such and inventory problems. So now no one can return stuff easily. And all you got was the 5 or 10% loot.. You forget this scheme is now done for your entire life. No longer can you get a refund back to your card. You are now stuck with your wallet money that you cant find anything to spend on. Your children will curse you for destroying their way of life. Does anyone think of the consequences of doing such things for such small gains? It is great that the Indian government does not allow itself to get mired in bringing gandhiji to the world. As happened with the US bringing democracy to afghans and iraqi’s.. A few people made huge loot from the Trillions.. It is only on a larger scale than this.. Millions of people dead.. entire countries destroyed.. All so a few people can make money.. Nothing else.. One of the main consequences of this was the huge increase in fraud in the US. Average common fraud was unheard of. Now police stop people and confiscate any money found. This money is used to pay their Christmas bonus and to throw police parties..30 years ago this would be a huge scandle.. Now police chiefs issue orders to catch people going on vacations as seen by the large amount of bags they carry etc who would have emergency money with them. You dont get your bonus if you dont catch enough people and bring in money..

Smokey and the bandit was a huge laughing matter when it came out showing how bad local corrupt police and villages were.. Like arab tribes kidnapping women from caravans and holding them as the price for letting the traders pass.

small things have large ramifications and consequences….

The above past I made was the bad I learnt.. But the good was how to use limited resources to get stuff I would otherwise be unable to get. Also to find new ways to deal with companies etc.. Use discounts and coupons.. Ways to transact and learn new methods.. Over all it is not worth what I save though. I never had time to follow up on things I needed to do so trying to follow up to save 5 or 10 or 20% is not worth the effort.. Definitely it is not worth the legal hassle to find gimmicks.. Btu like I had no idea about coolwinks for example or how to use CRED.. I dont need to waste a lot of effort to try to make money off them, I used them to make my life style easier.. I could pay my CC normally but I used to go to the bank and deposit a check which was a huge hassle since I did not have a HDFC account linked to the card to make payments.. So it took half a day for me to do this before and I rarely if ever used a credit card.

Yea I know there are many ways to do things but not my way and not the way I could do it. I need to do things the way I understand. And it has to be done they way I can do it. This is not as easy as it is made out to be. When I used to buy some parts from online, he would give me his HDFC bank account where I had to go and deposit a check in his name, since depositing cash means I have to pay MORE, I had to present a check and make a deposit and then send an email about the transaction and when it showed up in his account he would ship out the product.. This was how I bought hard drives and such before.. We have the likes of amazon and such now but DD brings other benefits like knowing when sales are coming and what items would be available etc.. All this requires a huge amount of time and resources to find out. So for busy people and others it was a huge boon to make shopping easier.. and also to learn about problems and fraud and scams etc.. Or even how to deal with problems.. Imagine trying to ask others about how to solve issues.. You waste hours at work talking about it which your manager definitely wont like..So its a huge time saver and helps with frustration and helplessness. Remember the old days when something happened in you village and your only answer was as God wills.. They should just go to DD now..
