I think we need a system to verify the authenticity of used products too. If I am not wrong with the VIN number of a car you can get the entire history of it which is evidently absent in India.

Yes, that is absolutely correct. One can even purchase detailed service, insurance claims, and ownership records from a site like Kelley Blue Book.

Coming back to electronics. I blindly trust used Apple devices as I can verify the warranty details of it with the serial number and all I need is that, this is still a basic level of verification as there is every possibility of damage to the device that isn’t covered under warranty but I can still have a certain level of confidence. I see such a system to be lacking with most other brands.

My point is that, if we have a system set in place to verify the credentials of a used product then we can have lot more people opting for it.

Well, the real problem in India is the stigma (religious/rahu-ketu/jaadu-tona) associated with buying used things.

many people are buying from facebook – garage sales or even olx quikr

I was in same condition before one year when bought VU Tv.
The TV had problem of backlight bleeding, white spots appear on TV edges, when the screen is completely dark, and the UI was also very slow in playing via USB mode, subtitles also were seen differently than my Samsung TV so finally decided to sold.

Sold it OLX before one month making loss of 3K https://cdn1.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_redface.gif

Even if you play full hd videos 1080p, the pixels are clearly visible whether you are close or far.

Also when i connected my CPU through HDMI Cable the quality is worst.

Stay away from this brand.

Bro please don’t get me wrong and neither can I comment on the quality of VU tvs, but you get what you pay for. So compromise is necessary when you want a highly affordable price. Never go by reviews of sound quality, video quality of electronics because many would be better off with average quality for the price they have paid and they write the same reviews.

Did you try with a PROPER Bluray rip? Not the highly compressed ones like from YIFY. 720p Bluray 5-6Mbps and for 1080p 8-10Mbps bitrate should be the bare minimum.

I was also fascinated with huge reviews, vuns, fpds by dimers and on flipkart for VU tv and bought one. We had used Sony, Samsung high range tvs earlier and stupidly went for vu one.

When it arrived it was completely disappointment in terms of build quality, video and audio and visual appearance.

So I requested for replacement saying audio defect in the unit. And we moved all our movable furniture, sofa, center table, side table, curtain and everything to other room, so the audio becomes more echoed in empty hall. It worked. Technician pointed out the empty hall, but worsen audio (because of there build quality) convinced him. And yeah, we got a bank refund (no replacement).

Reduce the sharpness to zero in picture settings when playing through USB or HDMI. This will solve your problem

Few months back, I ordered a smartphone (zte blade…) from flipkart @2000. I was happy with the loot initially but unfortunately the product was not up to the mark. The display was so laggy. I tried to return the device but there was no such option on flipkart. They were accepting only a replacement request. I talked with cc over the call but they reiterated same.
I was lucky that the product went OOS within a week and then when I tried raising the request, it was showing ‘refund’ option instead of replacement. I placed the request quickly and finally got rid of the product.
