[Hacked] Wallets Hacked and cards misused

Thanks for bringing this to notice. I did a mistake by storing my credit card information on a lot of sites.
Asked for a replacement and got the previous one deactivated.
Those who are unsure where their CC information is stored can try this.

Thanks for the heads up, UDIO and KiteCash are something I haven’t used till date but I used to be very regular with PayUMoney when there were having a good loyalty/rewards program giving 1% or more cash back and had my credit card details stored. I didn’t face any issue yet but deleted my saved cards just now to stay safe.

Won’t the details be save in db when we perform the transactions??

Reason why I am saying this is.. Freecharge has this condition saying … once per card… if they don’t store data how will they filter user??

My citi credit card had a fraud 2 days ago.I used it on aliexpress a week ago.i thought it as a issue.but looks like it leaked from wallet

Whether you store it or not, once you use the card, they will store the details.

AFAIK only HDFC and SBI Cards have easy one click methods to disable/enable International Usage. Any idea how to disable it in IndusInd Cards & ICICI.

FC not allowing me to use refunded wallet amount (for failed recharge) for another recharge

I’m not thinking to avoid wallets (3rd parties) altogether

I don’t save card info anywhere, but if I use a site frequently I would save a VCC like in paytm I had saved Payzapp and Udio. Both are not allowing to add money to paytm.
Any other VCC wallet which has no restrictions?

@deals44u So you linked your card to Facebook? Why — for some app or ad purchases?

I thought somebody had used your card in a fake or intermediary FB account for some profit.

Safekey email of my AMEX card was changed yesterday night at 4.20AM. Fraudsters tried to do transaction twice on PayU but it didn’t go through. AMEX cancelled all my cards as safety precaution. I used this card on AliExpress and Udio. I suspect Udio is the culprit as I saved my card details there.

I would suggest never save your card details on any site.

Also be careful with Zeta
It is storing the complete card details(Along with CVV) if you just made a transaction in zeta
So go account details and delete the card manually

That’s what AMEX team is researching. They have changed email for SafeKey only, not my profile email id, that’s what AMEX fraud detection team told me. They will update me how this happened once they complete their investigation.

i too got my icici cc gotten used in iceland !!! not sure where i used it, it was saved in freecharge i guess, raised a dispute in cc of icici, lets see what they say… blcked the card also. Very frightening to see such instances regularly happening, planning to stop using cc altogether on websites/wallets, instead only use vcc everywhere

I request to block International usage, because it wont ask OTP, as soon as you enter the CC No, Validity and CVV amount will be debited.

my amex online account was hacked last night…got alert for email address change…called amex cc within 2 mins…idiot exec transferred me to frauds team…by that time perp had already completed one 5k transaction at CC avenue…yelled at him to block my card immediately because i was getting otp sms…after that perp attempted two more transactions at payu but they were declined…it was almost like i was in some sci fi movie…no idea how he got hold of my account credentials i am super careful

I got 4 fraudulent txns done at le-vel dot com

Most idiotic thing is that they don’t have OTP for international transactions. Is there any reason to not have OTP based authentication?
