I have bought a mobile from Amazon for ₹7990 under 3 Months Debit Card EMI scheme on 19th March. My DC EMI Loan processed on 20th March and my 1st EMI supposed to be debited on 21st April. On 3rd April I received a automated email that if I don’t want EMI Morotarioum I don’t have to do a single thing from my side. But then on 21st April I received this message
“Dear Customer, ?Stmt for HDFCBank Debit Card EMI Loan 101907001342xxxx is generated. Total Amt Due is Rs 2908.29. EMI due of Rs 0 will be debited on 05/MAY/2020. Any overdue to be paid immediately.”
So I’ve been forcefully enrolled in EMI Moratorium without my consent to extract extra interest from me. After receiving this message I have rushed to HDFC Bank website and Filled up the EMI Consent Form and opted for 2nd option i.e
“Keep my EMI payment as per
schedule I don’t want to pay extra interest by delaying my
EMIS”
and got a Reference no. DMO0498xxxx.
After that I email my issue to [email protected] & [email protected] but haven’t got a single reply from them and their all customer care service unavailable.
If they extend my EMI tenure and charge me a single paisa extra I will sue them. I have all the proofs. HDFC is a Day Light Robbers.

I opted for 2months of monetorium amount 4078+4078 for which I was charged 3130 as intrest other than the principle
HDFC bank is not giving gift vouchers to for credit card spend based compaine too though achiving milestones
I am also waiting but i think thats because of lockdown.
Contact them on Twitter..
@Pallab1997 this had happened to all hdfc customers they have given moratorium to everyone. I got moratorium option in email and i did not opt for it, but in my credit card statement my due is 20k but minimum due is zero. Same has happened to my father, sister, a friend and neighbour. If you don’t want to pay interest than pay the amount manually.
And for the customer support, they are not replying any email. Phonebanking is not available for this kind of queries and on Twitter they will give you a link to fill a form to which they will never reply.
Stop being worried about a matter so small, just pay the money manually. And if you really want to than go ahead and Sue the bank, i am pretty sure the bank will win this one.
You can’t pay Debit Card EMI loan manually.
EMI will be automatically debited from your account.
Any option to close that emi facility. Something with 2-3%prepayment charge?
What kind of account it is.. Saving salaried.. Over 12 yr and never had issue with them..
Update: HDFC deducted my EMI on 5th May. Actually they deduct EMI on 5th of every month.
Please sue them.
