Friends

I have a Diners card now. It says Diners Club International Credit Card.

How do I make sure if it is Premium Diners or Normal Diners?

1 more question. With the 10X offer, lets say I spend 100 rupees on Uber, how much cashback will I get?

You will get zero. toungueout

You see, the minimum transaction amount to earn points on Diners cards is 150. So the points are only credited in multiples of 150. smile

Look at the rewards table on the official website and calculate things yourself. www.hdfcbankdinersclub.com/pri...ge

I see. So basically I should use Diners only when my spend is more than 150 & if I am using on a 10X rewards partner?

Yes, the transaction should be more than 150 in order for you to get any reward points regardless of whether the merchant is a 10x partner or not.

Even though I despise HDFC after they devalued/killed Diners rewardz and to certain extent Diners premium, I can compare and list benefits of Diners premium against Amex (gold charge card I presume) since I am a customer of Amex too.
You see there are no exactly similar cards, each have their own benefit

Yes, gold charge card.

Can you list certain benefits of Diners premium (over Amex) then?

Complimentary lounge access to both primary and add-on card members (6 free visits)
Diners premium has reward rate of 1.3% versus 0.41% of gold charge card
Acceptability of Diners card (which has collaborated with Rupay) at off-line stores compared to Amex
More rewarding 10x offers, smartbuy offers with HDFC cards against amexpayback offers of Amex
Opt for EMI payment of your credit card bill with Diners card against gold card where you must have to pay your bill after credit free period (basic diff between a credit card and a charge card)
Online offers (HDFC routinely partners with Amazon Snapdeal Flipkart) on HDFC are more compared to Amex
Travel offers are good with HDFC I presume (HDFC+Goibibo and HDFC+smartbuy versus Amex+MakeMyTrip)
I hope these are sufficient to consider for you HDFC card https://cdn2.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_smile.gif

How?
2 points per 100. That is 0.5% for direct credit.
0.83% for redeeming 18000/24000 points for 5000/10000 statement credit and 0.91% for amazon voucher at 24000 points. Plus points on wallet loading.

Amex gives statement credit, diners club 1.3% only for its own portal, lower for getting other GVs.

Only issue is it is difficult to get life time free Amex card where diners premium can easily be availed as LTF.

That 0.41 meant for 0.7 (calculation error)
1000*12*6= 72000 (12k points)
Another 600000 spend for extra 12k point
So, on 672000spend you get 4690 (10k credit from gold minus 5310 fees)
Which comes to 0.7%

For me it’s not worth to spend around 7 lakhs to achieve 0.7% returns.
Ps: they have almost stopped waiving renewal fees so had to calculate it

Main thing is to achieve 0.7% or 0.83/0.91 which you have mentioned, we have to spned a lot on this card, while with Diners premium that’s not the case.
Also for around 7 lakhs spend there are so many better cards are there in market

Offer on all spends irrespective of the merchant like Diwali Tanishq GV offer on Amex differentiate it from HDFC. So benefit is more in case of Amex even if you get devalued diners for free and amex for 4500+taxes.

There is no guarantee Amex will repeat Tanishq or EzeClick offer this year. If they do so, yeah why not, one of the best card to hold in that case

Bro, how did u calculate 0.83% for redeeming 18000/24000 points for 7500/10000 statement credit ???

I belive, the reward percentage is 0.41% (10000/24000 or 7500/18000) and NOT 0.83%.

Can you please share if i am missing something ???
