Update:

The remittance for my transaction was put on hold as I had to complete the KYC formalities being a seller. This step kicks in whenever the overall remittance crosses Rs. 30,000.

As the bank details given were my firm’s account I had to submit some extra documents for KYC verification process.

Just got an email saying that the KYC verification process has been completed successfully! As per their cycle their next remittance is on 18th April so that is when the payment will be made to my account.

I guess it’s all done for now. Thanks for all the support guys!

Strange! As far as I can remember, the buyer can raise a claim only after he confirms receipt of item.

Nah, never confirm item receipt if you are the buyer
if you confirm the item receipt, then payment gets released for the seller

I was perplexed by that logic too. When a buyer raised a refund request saying that the product isn’t as described isn’t it assumed by default that the product has been received? eBay and it’s logic!

No
If someone is raising a claim that something is wrong with this purchase, then obviously he received the item (according to eBay)
As far as i got to know from eBay, we should confirm the item receipt only if we are 100% satisfied with the product received

Usually eBay sellers (including me) insist the buyers to confirm the item receipt when the product gets delivered
most of the buyers doesnt do that until 4 or 5 days (Good practise), some wont do it all

Edit : once the payment gets released to the seller, there’s nothing much any buyer can do
Mostly eBay will ask the buyer to settle the issue with the seller personally
