Help Regarding Insomnia !

Hi All ,

Due to My Life Style , i use to be sleep around 2 Am.

But Now I have Exams 2 days Regularly for 6 hours each day.

I have observed that Night Before Exam day , i couldn’t able to Sleep well ( Reason can be Life style , obviously tension is also main factor ) and It affects my Performance. I had taken tablets last time but it didn’t work !

Any Suggestions Welcomed. if you have used that method or you are pretty sure that it will work then only share Please. If you don’t want to share in comment section then you can tell me vai PM as well !

Although I am very junior then you but things I am writing is adopted from a senior then both of us.
1) Don’t try new things during exams; let it be even if it’s not going well.
2) after exams try to sleep early 1 hour for a week. then add 2 hours from next week …
you can’t follow it if directly started with 10 pm on the first day.
3)If tension is affecting your performance then you should take tension for your that tension.
4)so jao ab stuck_out_tongue exam ke time pe DD pe nasha mat dhundho

Thanks Bro ,

Not addicted to DD as much ( for now) . Tension is not exam related , it’s related to Sleep time. Whenever unable to complete 6 hrs sleep , i feel stressed , heavy minded and eventually affecting Performance.

During exam do some medjtation in the morning it will help.
After exam go for some excercise do hit gym for 90minutes intense excercise.
Excercise is the best stress buster. Join the gym u will feel better.

I have started meditation. Joined Yoga Classes for 1 month and i reliased that Yoga is not for me(to be honest ).

Gym , i will join for sure but i have 1 week left with me so i need some hook and crook remedy for sleeping problem.

ALPRAZOLAM…..WITH BEST RESULTS ….. BUT PUT THE ALARM AT TIME OR BEST TO TELL THE FRIENDS OR PARENTS TO WAKE U UP ON TIME AT MORNING…. just suggestion.

@viratkohlianu18112 meditation and yoga are different. Mediataion means stablizing the mind and emotions for specific period of time. Just sit in calm palace chant the mantra name of ur ideal and focus on ideal for 30 minutes. It will help. Yoga is for physical health whereas meditation supports mental and spirtual health.

If you are well prepared then only you will sleep well. Or if you dont give a f**k to exam and have a i will see  what happens in exam attitude then you can sleep well. Other than that its difficult to sleep due to fear of failure or to do better in exam. Best solution is changing sleep cycle and stop using mobiles at night while in bed.

I had Insomnia, first I couldn’t figure out why. Then I analysed what stress led to this. For me, it was …(It’s different situations to people).

One day, I just let it all out. Keeping it to myself was the trouble, that was affecting my sleep. That day, I slept well. Looking at what you just said, it looks like exams failure/exam stress. I recommend work it out, talk with your friends, if possible group study.

And if still you can’t get sleep at night, read the book (study) till you feel sleepy.

do some physical exercise. have rice at night instead of wheat products. take a cup of light tea (without milk) after diner, it helps to relax your tension. switch off all lights and play soft light music, like gazal or classical instrumental, at low volume. taking vit B12 supplement also helps but do not take for long term.
sitting for a 6 hr exam also is physically tiring. I remember, in my days, I had to sit for two 3 hr exams everyday, separated by about 2 hrs, continuously for 4 days. So it was like 11 hrs from home to back home. I just used to come back home, take a paracetamol and sleep. But not sure whether that was medically correct.

But having spoilt your bio rhythm.. finding quick fixes won’t work much.

Had it not been about your education, exams…
would have asked you to get tired ..works for me almost always. But then I’m past my expiry date. You are young.

If can walk few kilometers or cut down on carbohydrates.

But don’t do anything in extremes.
.
Generally, try getting up prior to sunrise and avoid eating ANYthing after sundown.
.
take moderate warm (toned or cow ) milk an hour or so before returning to bed. .. edit don’t take if having lactose issues or protein resistance in your liver (had dengue malaria and took Quinine.). and obviously milk without refined sugar added to it).

Most importantly, don’t break a routine/ good habit even for a day.
Cut down on coffee tea cigarettes alcohol if those are your cheat foods/ addictions.

First few days you might toss and turn even if lying down. But don’t change the routine. Keep sleeping at same time daily.

avoid all unnecessary stimulation to brain.. a few hours prior to sleeping. That organ effing doesn’t shut down so no romantic, horror, action movies or shows. No talking to/ texting sexting boyfriend girlfriend or even browsing Desidime.
Mind won’t wind down.

Avoid using masturbation as a sleeping aide (even if it seemingly works wink ). and for sound undisturbed sleep.. do empty your bladder prior to retiring for the day

maybe it was about Quinine. But i do know of kids (even my own niece/ cousin’s kid) being put on course of Quinine. Later some food complication developed, tests revealed some adverse effects on liver.
various doctors Simply asked(such juvenile cases) to cut off on protein heavy foods (legumes, pulses, egg, milk too).

but otherwise, making (practically forced) orgasms your “crutches” for sleep.. isn’t going to help in the long (run). Some habits have more cons than pros.
also asked her/him to shun coffee tea cigarettes alcohol, if those too are habits.

Orgasms, at the end of love making have a much more pronounced physiological and psychological response. may even help boost immunity but that means; relationship BEYOND your left/right palm. (Applies to ALL genders).

Nothing beats getting sound , quick sleep than getting tired.
as a young kid, was fascinated to see the hammals (loaders/unloaders) working for this grain merchant.. easily catching forty winks even in hot afternoons.
i would wonder, how can someone fall asleep just like that.
That’s when Paa gave some simple but deep rules to live by
that any honest work and wholesome labour ( mehnat ) one does, always gets one quick and sound sleep.

it’s matter of fact but true. as a kid i noticed that THAT grain merchant was always very edgy, irritable and tense despite his millions.. while those who could get only two square meals from the dehaadi (daily wage) lives more contended, fulfilled lives.

i was apprehensive talking much on getting tired part, ’cause Mr.I stay awake till 2am .. has his exams immediately.
not prudent to take undue risks.
But i always saw/see smile my father falling asleep fast.
Not having undue tensions, keeping things sorted but simple, not a paisa every of ill gotten monies or stuff (never took even Deepawali “gifts” from vendors. For some reason, one of the corporates had this thing that if long due bills were passed.. accounts people got kaaju katli (cashew sweetmeat).
But Paa has always been and is adamant.
No faltu business in life.
Imaan (righteous) ki kamaai (or in your case.. honest output, doing your duties, taking care of family) and mehnat should get you chaain ki neend @viratkohlianu18112

Dont go to sleep at all.. Tire yourself out and remain awake.. Then sleep early.. Then your bio rhythm will change.. I had to do this often.. US time is 12 hours difference and when I had work and such I had to change timing and then had trouble being awake when everyone else was asleep which was a problem when visiting in-laws as the entire town was asleep and only I was awake.. But then when I went to the US had trouble sleeping there too as the 12hour difference made me not sleepy.

But from younger days when I had to remain awake for 2-3 days at a time due to driving and work made me realize its better to just get tired and go to sleep.. ie IF I usually sleep at 12pm, I sleep the next day at like 2pm.. while normal sleep period is 8pm.. So I end up somewhere in the middle.. Then it is easier to adjust your sleeping hours.. But its easy to break this again if you are not careful.. ie you will fall back into sleeping at 12 instead of 8 easily.. So you have to sleep by 7-8..

You can easily go without sleep for 2-3 days for extended time of years without much trouble.. So this is easy.. Actually I never understood how people can fall asleep while driving since I did this so often.. I was always alert and awake no matter what even after more than 2 or 3 days with no sleep.. But then 3-4 days I feel very tired and have to rest even during day time.. You can never force yourself to sleep.. So dont. Also why waste so much time of your life.. Its like you are burning money.. half your life you are just throwing away for nothing..

Of course once you get older, when you feel sleepy it dont matter if you are piloting a plane, you will fall asleep no matter what you are doing..
