I have a vague issue:
Two postpaid Vodafone numbers AA and BB.
On AA, I do not receive SMS from some senders. I am aware of – GCI, BIGCITY, ZINGOY, CASHIFY, LUCKYLIPS (there could be more that I am not aware of). SMS from amazon, shopclues, flipkart, all wallets, all banks received correctly.
On BB, I receive all SMS without any issues
Both registered for full DND, so DND is not the problem.
To test I unregistered AA from DND, I started receiving some SPAM messages, still messages from those senders are not received. Raised a complaint with Vodafone and every time they come back saying issue has been resolved.
Now I am left with one last option – port to Airtel. Service quality and charges of Vodafone and Airtel are the same in my area. Only problem will be with bill payment discounts!
If anyone has faced similar issues, please help.

The number that I have a problem with is my primary number that I have had for more than 8 years. I have unregistered from DND to test.
The number that’s working fine was taken recently for a family member. Full DND registered.
I have had same issues with Airtel before not getting OTP for certain senders n so I had to unsubscribe to DND long back
Even I am looking for an update from ones who are on DND service for Airtel
I have another Airtel Postpaid number that I use in my tab (primarily for data) – it is also full DND registered and I receive all genuine SMS on it as desired – BIGCITY, CASHIFY etc. If you want me to try any specific sender, I can.
it has to do with series…i am on same boat with vodafone from last 12 years..many complaints but no solution….even provided them with pulse record obtained from axis bank showing otp sent but not recd by me…989xxxxxx series is sufferer…..981xxxxxxxx is the best series to get sms without fail…
For me, my old number (AA) that has the problem is 973x and the new one that’s working fine is 888x (Bangalore). But I do not have a problem with any Banks, Wallets or mainstream shopping sites (flipkart etc). Problem is with non mainstream sites – BIGCITY, GCI, CASHIFY, ZINGOY etc. I suspect they are using a different kind of path/gateway that is getting blocked. Anyway, I’ve made up my mind to port to Airtel. Yesterday, I wanted to sell an old Tab on cashify and had to use another number for registration. Last week I could not use the Zingoy Rs 25 Amazon voucher because my number is not verified!
Dnd is not the issue nor the operator.
The sms sender gateway is the issue,which might be considered as spam by your operator.
I thought i am alone here with Vodafone. Same issue, multiple emails exchanged with vodafone with timestamps of the OTP transactions, but no luck, looks like i have to portout my vodafone to someother network
it won’t work on other network too….problem is with series and sms sender gateway….
I ported my number to Airtel (partially for this problem, partially for better network in my office area). The problem remains. I am still not receiving SMS from ZINGOY, DESIDIME, GCI, BIGCITY, CASHIFY, LUCKYLIPS, KENSTAR (service) and a few more. Now it is confirmed that one of the the SMS gateways has blocked my number like @M.MAHI and @dearajay said! Fortunately, it is not any of the mainstream gateways as I am getting SMS from all wallets, banks and major shopping sites.

Whats Your Phone Number Series Starting With ?
This is for everybody’s attention who is not receiving OTP’s. You can identify the operator and the circle from which you were able to receive SMS previously. For example, Im not receiving SMS from series TM . TM here stands for Tata teleservice from Mumbai who has blocked my number. Hope this helps to identify the issue.
First service provider followed by service Circle. T- Service provider M- Service circle

I too faced this issue & still facing for certain cases
Certain app OTP never used to come, I too went for stopping DND, started receiving lots & lots of spam still certain sms does not come
Few senders confirmed having delivered the message, my guess issues are at vodafone end but I dont want to switch to Airtel for same reason as yours + network quality is better of VF
