Hi admins,

In the race to get FPD, i have seen people posting incomplete deals like just the title just as a placeholder. Then afterwards they edit post to include the details.

To avoid this, cant a restriction be kept that posts can only be edited 3-4 minutes after creation.

This will avoid placeholder posts

also, @avgn it would help them better if you open such posts in Questions issues and suggestions for DesiDime

[for now, you can request the on-line team members to do so; @TronGalaxy , @cm4444 @hese @ankit tiwari or even @hardikg23 ]

Thanks @Spock for directing us to this thread and Great Job @avgn to highlight this issue.

Some serious measures like keeping OP un-editable for atleast 2 hours can be done. That will help in prevention of “Placeholder” threads or “Patenting” of repeated deals (Amazon daily deals, Monthly deals etc etc).
If in some case, OP wants to add some crucial information they can clearly do the same by means of responding to their original post and then Moderators can always check the contents First Post and OPs first response to it. Thus if need-be to make the information more precise, the contents of successive posts can be merged with Original post.

Suggestion:
(1) Make original posts un-editable for atleast 2 hours.
(2) successive posts can be edited, and the additional information by Deal-poster can alwasy be shared through successive posts.
