How to get dollars for traveling outside India?

So it has been a busy year & I am planning a trip outside india, maybe singapore / dubai / vietnam. Now If demonitization had not happened, I could have easily extracted few thousand rupees and converted into dollars at good conversion rate. But in the current economy, what is the best way to get the best rates to convert my online cash (netbanking) into in-hand dollars / dhirams ?
