Hot Deal I Rejected Courier From AliExpress. Will I get Refund?

A month ago I purchased xiomi smart watch for around 3800. 10 days ago, the IndiaPost post man has asked me to pay 3300 as customs so I rejected the courier and asked him to take it back. AliExpress says the “order will be closed in three days.”
Should I raise the dispute and tell the seller the “truth” as to what happened, or will I get the refund automatically after 3 days? I don’t see any tracking info there. I’ve also paid for “buyer protection” if that helps. Will I get the refund for “rejection”? What are the chances of me not getting the refund at all?

I highly recommend you to raise dispute asap asking full refund. I don’t think you would get refund automatically.

For refund first it should get back to seller which i highly doubt after reading IP hands stuck_out_tongue

Buying something from abroad

Always told seller mark the item as gift

And always show value less than 20$

Otherwise you will always face customs issues

You are screwed either ways as the status will now be marked as “Rejected by buyer”

I think buyer protection is only when you don’t get the product at all or u get a defective item

Bro, just raise the dispute as early as possible, that step makes sure your money is safe. While raising dispute select option custom is holding the package and in comments section mention actual reason that the custom duty is high its sellers mistake he declared very high price or say very low price which is not actual price. Then in messages ask the seller to repay custom duty if he agrees then well and good if he isn’t let the AliExpress took decision.
Indian post never send parcel back, you will never get refund automatically. So visit your nearest post office and pay custom duties and took parcel. Use wise words while registering dispute. Took photographs of shipping label, actual parcel label, invoice if any and most importantly custom receipt, those will act as evidences while opening dispute

Then just visit post office, take pics of your parcel and custom receipts and open the dispute. Ask postman to keep parcel …tell them you will take it within 4-5 days….

I told the post man to send it back. That is 10 or 15 days ago. I doubt they still have the product holding in my local post office.

It was trackable before. The status was “Held by customs.” That is the last status I’ve seen. IndiaPost tracking is nowhere to be found. I don’t even know their tracking ID.

i ordered 1 product from aliexpress, it came to my local post office it was lying there for 7 days then they sent the parcelback to seller (to singapore) then seller asked me to order again at no cost.

so there is full hope to you to get refund or replacement

you can either raise a dispute stating product still not delivered or ask seller to extend the Buyer protection !!. you can also send seller request.

once the period is over you have no chance of any refund

i was obviously in contact with seller…

Firstly, I checked with foreign post office, they told me that parcel came back to them from local post office and they have dispatched parcel back to singapore.

I made this known to seller, then seller asked me to wait till he receives product

After that as I wanted product and not refund, he asked me to make order with payment fail then asked me to provide order number and changed the price of that order to $0.01 then i made payment and the parcel i received in 8 to 10 days

Bro to the best of my knowledge. You have two options Either tell the truth to the seller and else you have to be selfish.but on the prioirty you should raise the dispute with full refund.
Firstly just like someone above told that raise the dispute,tell the seller everything blame him to declaring exact value for your stuff and let Ali express decide.I believe to save the Indian custom fee is not the motto of the Ali express..no where mentioned in thier T&C.I’m 100% sure Aliexpress management is value customers more than seller.I have some experiences with Aliexpress and they really value customers..but it’s assumption that they will give your refund.. On the other hand As you said if the final status is “Held by customs” then you not need to worry just raise the dispute with full refund….and ask seller that till now it’s with the custom..I’m sure you have not tag it as the gift. Also if you want that stuff. ..make/give your first offer that send me new item and tag it as gift.

I’m not sure. But I remember paying extra for “trackable shipment” and also paid extra for Buyer Protection.

Don’t tell aliexpress that you rejected due to custom charges, tell them that you have not received the parcel and the courier status showing false

No. Paying customs duty is your duty. Seller is no way responsible for that. And when you have rejected and the parcel is sent back who will pay the return shipping? Why should the seller bear return shipping charge for a fault which is not his. From my experience I’m 90% sure you’ll NOT get refund from Aliexpress in this case.

I had ordered 2 sjcam batteries. It was registered parcel, but no tracking info once it left customs. First time facing this issue.
Product was of 1600rs. Dont think ill get it now.
