Edit: oh well.. now there is another Rupay CC post (Andhra bank) to which you guys might have also got tagged.
Brace for a deluge of Rupay Credit Card launches.
Edit2: really keen to see what SBIcards is gonna bring to the table with their take on Rupay CC, after their last few excellent card programmes in SimplyClick and Prime.
My interaction with my local IDBI banker started off on a wrong footing – Aadhaar.
The banker was unsure how things would turn out after my PAN card becomes invalidated starting tomorrow (as I haven’t applied for Aadhaar) and wanted me to comeback after getting my documents in order.
I didn’t have the motivation to engage the banker further.
Edit: cc: @DealSeeker
The linking will become mandatory from July 1, and it’s not mandatory to link before July 1. If you are not able to link it before July 1, your PAN will not become invalid automatically. After July 1, the linking will become mandatory and the government may declare a date after which the PAN not linked to Aadhaar will become invalid. The government has not declared that date yet.

Agree. On a normal day, I might have pulled some stunts like requesting for the bank’s manager to give me a written statement just for the lolz, that am being denied service over not having applied for a document whose mandatoriness is subjudice.
Just that I was on the way back home, and didn’t see the need to spoil their day or mine over it, and simply acted dumb and walked out.
