Changes in a Govt. Dept. are like the make up of our movie heroines. You know what I mean! 
My sister who stays in the suburbs of Chennai asked me to order some items from Amazon. They were shipped by IP. This morning the postman asked her to pick it up from the office since the parcel was too big to be carried on his “bicycle”. This is what the real India Post is. 
I can sympathize with the postman. Most of them are part of IP’s ExtraDepartmental workforce. They are very poorly paid and ill equipped to do the job. 
Vision of India Post
India Post’s products and services will be the customer’s first choice.
When I first heard that, I asked a tutor at a Postal Training Centre what a joke it was. “IP has crossed 150 years of its existence. Still, its motto is to become the customer’s first choice.”
He was a good man. No other listener would have raised this question to him before that (and I’m sure neither after that). He said there were many factors involved in it. One of them was the policies of the government. I understood why he didn’t want to get into the details of it. 
IP is and will always (have to) be primarily a service sector. For example, they issue Post Cards at 50 paise to facilitate communication between poor people. They should never give it up because of the loss they incur due to this because that’s what they are here for. If only the Govt. wanted to provide quality service till the last village out there, IP would ever be the first choice of every customer.
Almost all the courier services were brainstormed and developed by retired postal officials. They still are. The current ones are allies with them. They will join their seniors after retirement. The government should not have allowed it in the very beginning. But now they are putting on a great show as if they are trying to rescue the sinking ship.

Let me reply to your points:
1.I use Facebook login. So the software is used in this website automatically picked up my Facebook profile picture as avatar for this forum. That does not mean that I am promoting my website. I usually don’t bother to set profile picture and fill other info in websites all. The software automatically picked up, That’s all. If it’s against the rules, I am sorry. Will remove it.
2. Learn how to treat new members. Unnecessary sarcasm is not going to help. It degrades the reputation of the poster and the forum. It’s due to the hard work of we sellers, customers are getting some awesome deals. Have some respect towards us.
3. The intention behind this thread is purely for sharing experiences with India Post. I started the thread by sharing my experience. I don’t see anything wrong in it. If people would stop buying from a store because they use India Post, none would shop online. Most of the private companies use India Post infrastructure for shipping. They have a simple, straight forward pricing and operations. There are no half dozen hidden fees like private couriers.
FYI India Post is the market leader in Express Logistics. They handle much more articles than all private courier companies combined. They deliver to each and every nook and corner of the country as long as there is civilization. There is not even a single private courier company which comes remotely close.
There is no denying in the fact that they are bit behind in technological adoption and in centralized customer support. This is something which is changing rapidly. Coming years will be the Golden age of India Post. Mark my words.

everybody knows that u r not posting here for promoting speed post as it is a public sector company.
And also most of us will think a newbie is a spammer if he/she has a website name in his DP. Moreover, i was about to alert admin.
I also joined desidime with my facebook profile only but my profile picture did not show up here. I may be wrong as it’s been long time since then and it maybe different now.
I dont know about other but whenever Amazon used India post to deliver the product and by chance box is little big and heavy than I got call from post office to pick up the parcel instead of deliver it at my door step.. well its highly unprofessional as I need to go around 5 kms just to collect the parcel…

mine is exactly opposite lol. i am from a village and all the courier companies tell me to come and collect from the town which is 5km from my home. But, indiapost delivers to my home

mine is exactly opposite lol. i am from a village and all the courier companies tell me to come and collect from the town which is 5km from my home. But, indiapost delivers to my home
For Small Handy Products Its Easy To Deliver
But When Comes To KGs Of BIg Box Then U Will Receive A Call After U Receive Out For Delivery Msg
Or Sometimes Not Even Call Comes,You Need To Investigate Yourself About The Product.

2. What new members / old members? I treat everyone equally, with sarcasm!
3. Even my first post here is all about India Post. Seems my sarcasm post made you overlook the insider review I gave you about IP.
