I’ve purchased a Bluetooth headset at just Rs.$12 from china via ebay.com and purchased from USA but delivering in india.
As per terms and conditions upto INR5000 valued articles there will be no customs charges which the dept won’t follow usually and they charge as per their wish , is this right??
I also heard if we request the seller ship it as a GIFT/SAMPLE pack then it will be EXEMPTED for all this taxes, was it true in PRACTICAL???
KINDLY SHARE YOUR KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE AS I’M REALLY WORRIED HOW MUCH I’M GONNA PAY EXTRA TO BUY THIS AS I JUST BOUGHT ON SEEING THE PRICE… guys its a most wanted product i.e., Mi Air dots.
Most importantly, pls answer this if they charge heavily and if I rejected the delivery then it will be illegal and I’ll be punishable under indian law which means I CAN’T REJECT THE DELIVERY -—IS THIS REALLY TRUE? I CAN’T REJECT THE DELIVERY??

You are confused , relax
Most of what you have said is myth. Customs for general public in India is purely luck based, most of the parcel from china is now marked as gift/1$
Two things can happen, you get your parcel without any complications or they open the parcel check the value in receipt against records and some time may charge you 40% import tax
It is always better to have product on original value, also you can reject the parcel but that is going to be your loss only
