We feel that suddenly the relationship has broken abruptly n wish there could be a connection again. In this quest, our journey to find answers to the above questions begin …
So, what happens after death ?
Death is actually a very interesting process !!
Disconnection of the earth sole chakras
Approximately 4-5 hours before death, the earth sole chakras situated below the feet gets detached … symbolizing disconnection from the earth plane !!
A few hours before an individual dies, their feet turn cold. When the actual time to depart arrives, its said that Yama, the God of death appears to guide the soul.
The Astral Cord
Death severs the astral cord, which is the connection of the soul to the body. Once this cord is cut the soul becomes free of the body n moves up n out of the body.
If the soul is attached to the physical body it occupied for this lifetime, it refuses to leave n tries to get into the body n move it n stay in it. We may observe this as a very subtle or slight movement of the face, hand or leg after the person has died.
The soul is unable to accept that it is dead. There is still a feeling of being alive. Since the astral cord has been severed, the soul cannot stay here n is pushed upwards n out of the body. There is a pull from above … a magnetic pull to go up.
End of the physical body
At this stage the soul hears many voices, all at the dame time. These are the thoughts of all the individuals present in the room.
The soul on its part talks to his loved ones like he always did n shouts out “I am not dead” !!
but alas, nobody hears him.
Slowly n steadily the soul realizes that it is dead n there is no way back n at this stage, the soul is floating at approx 12 feet or at the height of the ceiling, seeing n hearing everything happening around.
Generally the soul floats around the body till it is cremated.
So, the next time if you see a body being carried for cremation, be informed that the soul is also part of the procession seeing, hearing n witnessing everything n everyone.
Detachment from the body
Once the cremation is complete, the soul is convinced that the main essence of its survival on earth is lost n the body it occupied for so many years has merged into the five elements.
The soul experiences complete freedom, the boundaries it had while being in the body are gone n it can travel anywhere by mere thought.
For 7 days the soul, moves about its places of interest like its favorite joint, morning walk garden, office, etc..If the soul is possessive of his money, it will just stay near his cupboard, or if he is possessive of his children, it will just be in their room, clinging on to them.
By the end of the 7th day, the soul says bye to his family n moves further upwards to the periphery of the earth plane to cross over to the other side.
The Tunnel
Its said that there is a big tunnel here which it has to cross before reaching the astral plane. Hence its said that the first 12 days after death are extremely crucial.
we have to carry out the rituals correctly n pray n ask forgiveness from the soul so that it does not carry negative emotions like hurt, hatred, anger, etc atleast from the near n dear ones.
All the rituals, prayers n positive energy act like food for the soul which will help it in its onward journey. At the end of the tunnel is a huge bright light signifying the entry into the astral world.
Meeting the Ancestors
On the 11th n 12th day Hindus conduct homas n prayers n rituals through which the soul is united with its ancestors, close friends, relatives n the guides.
All the passed away ancestors welcome the soul to the upper plane n they greet n hug them exactly like we do here on seeing our family members after a long time.
The soul then along with its guides are taken for a thorough life review of the life just completed on earth in the presence of the Great Karmic Board. It is here in the pure light that the whole past life is viewed !!
Life Review
There is no judge, there is no God here. The soul judges himself, the way he judged others in his lifetime. He asks for revenge for people who troubled him in that life, he experiences guilt for all wrongdoings he did to people n asks for self punishment to learn that lesson. Since the soul is not bound by the body n the ego, the final judgment becomes the basis of the next lifetime.
Based on this, a complete life structure is created by the soul himself, called the blue print. All the incidents to be faced, all problems to be faced, all challenges to be overcome are written in this agreement.
In fact the soul chooses all the minute details like age, person n circumstances for all incidents to be experienced.
Example : An individual had severe headache in his present birth, nothing helped him, no medicines, no way out. In a session of past life regression, he saw himself killing his neighbour in a previous birth by smashing his head with a huge stone.
In the life review, when he saw this he became very guilty n asked for the same pain to be experienced by him by way of a never ending headache in this life.
Blue print
This is the way we judge ourselves n in guilt ask for punishment. The amount of guilt in the soul decides the severity of the punishment n level of suffering. Hence forgiveness is very vital. We must forgive n seek forgiveness !!
Clear your thoughts n emotions, as we carry them forward to the other side too. Once this review is done n our blue print for the next life is formed, then there is a cooling period.
The re-birth
We are born depending on what we have asked for in the agreement. The cooling off period also depends on our urgency to evolve.
We choose our parents n enter the mothers womb either at the time of egg formation or during the 4-5th month or sometimes even at the last moment just before birth.
The universe is so perfect ,so beautifully designed that the time n place of birth constitutes our horoscope, which actually is a blue print of this life. Most of us think that our stars are bad n we are unlucky but in actuality, they just mirror your agreement.
Once we are reborn, for around 40 days the baby remembers its past life n laughs n cries by itself without anyone forcing it to. The memory of the past life is completely cut after this n we experience life as though we did not exist in the past.
The agreement starts..
Its here that we are completely in the earth plane n the contract comes into full effect. We then blame God/ people for our difficult situations n curse God for giving us such a difficult life …
So, the next time before pointing to the Divine, understand that our circumstances are just helping us complete n honor our agreement, which is fully n completely written by us. Whatever we have asked for n pre decided is exactly what we receive !!
Friends, relatives, foes, parents, spouses all have been selected by us in the blue print n come in our lives based on this agreement. They are just playing their parts n are merely actors in this film written, produced n directed by us !!
Do the Dead need healing / prayers / protection ?
The dead always need serious healing n prayers for a variety of reasons, the most important one being … To be free n not earthbound !! … that is stuck in the earth plane n unable to leave.
There are many reasons for the soul to be earthbound like unfinished business, excessive grief, trauma on death, sudden death, fear of moving on to the astral plane, guilt, one of the most important being improper finishing of last rites n rituals.
The soul feels it needs a little more time to wait n finish before moving on. This keeps them hovering on the earth plane. But the time is limited n it is very very important that they cross over within 12 days to their astral plane of existence, as the entry to the astral world closes a few days after this.
Earthbound spirits lead a very miserable existence as they are neither in their actual plane nor in a body to lead an earthly life. They may not be negative or harmful but they are stuck n miserable. Hence healing n prayers are of utmost importance during this period so that the departed soul crosses over to the designated astral plane peacefully.
Prayers by the whole family is very vital to help the dead cross over. The protection of the soul to help it reach its destination in the astral world is achieved through prayers.

@Alpha.Barood Referring to your post about death and soul travelling (extracts from Garuda Puran), I read all this before and while discussing with others I give it a thought and sharing things that came out of my mind. One thing I want to tell here is soul can never hear or see anything after it exits the worldly human body . For that one needs eyes and ears. There are contradictory lines which needs to be examined. One is where it tells, soul try to shout but nobody can listen because of absence of mouth as body is exited and same way ears are not there to listen anything so whatever people around soul say, it can’t be heard as ears are left to dead body not taken away from it.

Who ever written it or thought about it was alive when writing these thoughts. Death is the biggest secret which can never be unfolded but what I feel is death is just like the same one feels as it is imaginary in all aspects and nothing like death exists in this whole system. A soul never dies, it just occupies. So whoever thought it takes soul as something that is materialistic but it is actually not.

Even in Shrimad Bhagwad Geeta (Dusra Adhayaya), it is told that once soul exits it takes away things attached to 5 senses which can be some work in your mind or anything else and come back to do unfinished jobs and stays until it’s done before getting itself back to almighty which is a long long process as we spent our every life doing the things which were not meant to be done after having life. We forget the promise we do and Maya (Trap of maya) takes over us. So cycle keep rotating. Depending on our karmas, we get birth accordingly. So what our next birth will be like is pre-decided and executes as per our Karmas.

As per me (or maybe not as who am I), Death is the most beautiful thing ever happen to someone in this world. It is even better than having a life that is stuck in the body.

आशा सहनी की मौत की रूह कांपने वाली खबर अधिकतर ने आज नहीं पढ़ी होगी। क्योंकि उस खबर में मसाला नहीं था। खबर पढ़कर इग्नोर करने की एक और वजह भी थी- उसमें हम सब आईने में अपनी तस्वीर देखने की हिम्मत नहीं कर पाते।

80 साल की आशा सहनी मुंबई के पॉश इलाके में 10 वी मंजिल पर एक अपार्टमेंट में अकेले रहती थी। उसके पति की मौत चार साल पहले हो गयी। अकेले क्यों रहती थी? क्योंकि उसका अकेला बेटा अमेरिका में डॉलर कमाता था। बिजी था। उसके लिए आशा सहनी डेथ लाइन में खड़ी एक बोझ ही थी। उसके लाइफ फारमेट में आशा सहनी फिट नहीं बैठती थी।

ऐसा कहने के पीछे मजबूत आधार है। बेटे ने अंतिम बार 23 अप्रैल 2016 को अपनी मां को फोन किया था। व्हाट्सऐप पर बात भी हुई थी। मां ने कहा- अब अकेले घर में नहीं रह पाती हूं। अमेरिका बुला लो। अगर वहीं नहीं ले जा सकते हो तो ओल्ड एज ही होम ही भेज दो अकेले नहीं रह पाती हूं।

बेटे ने कहा- बहुत जल्द वह आ रहा है। कुल मिलाकर डॉलर कमाते बेटे के लिए अपनी मां से बस इतना सा लगाव था कि उसके मरने के बाद अंधेरी का महंगा अपार्टमेंट उसे मिले। जाहिर है इसके लिए बीच-बीच में मतलब कुछ महीनों पर आशा सहनी की खैरियत ले लिया करता था जो उसकी मजबूरी थी।

चूंकि उसे इस साल अगस्त में आना था, उसने 23 अप्रैल 2016 के बाद मां को फोन करने की जरूरत नहीं समझी। वह 6 अगस्त को मुंबई आया। कोई टूर टाइम प्रोग्राम था। बेटे ने अपना फर्ज निभाते हुए, आशा सहनी पर उपकार करते हुए उनसे मिलने का वक्त निकालने का प्रोग्राम बनाया। उनसे मिलने अंधेरी के अपार्टमेंट गये। बेल बजायी। कोई रिस्पांस नहीं। लगा, बूढी मां सो गयी होगी। एक घंटे तक जब कोई मूवमेंट नहीं हुई तो लोगों को बुलाया। पता चलने पर पुलिस भी आ गयी। गेट खुला तो सभी हैरान रह गए।

आशा सहनी की जगह उसकी कंकाल पड़ी थी बेड के नीचे। शरीर तो गल ही चुका था, कंकाल भी पुराना हो चला था। जांच में यह बात सामने आ रही है कि आशा सहनी की मौत कम से कम 8-10 महीने पहले हो गयी होगी। यह अंदाजा लगा कि खुद को घसीटते हुए गेट खोलने की कोशिश की होगी लेकिन बूढ़ा शरीर ऐसा नहीं कर सका। लाश की दुर्गंध इसलिए नहीं फैली कि दसवें तल्ले पर उनका अपना दो फ्लैट था। बंद फ्लैट से बाहर गंध नहीं आ सकी।

बेटे ने अंतिम बार अप्रैल 2016 मे बात होने की बात ऐसे की मानो वह अपनी मां से कितना रेगुलर टच में था। जाहिर है आशा सहनी ने अपने अपार्टमेंट में या दूसरे रिश्तेदार से संपर्क इसलिए काट दिया होगा कि जब उसके बेटे के लिए ही वह बोझ थी तो बाकी क्यों उनकी परवाह करेंगे? वह मर गयी। उसे अंतिम यात्रा भी नसीब नहीं हुई।

आशा सहनी की कहानी से डरिये। जो अाज आशा सहनी के बेटों की भूमिका में है वह भी डरें, क्योंकि कल वह आशा सहनी बनेंगे। और अगर आप किसी आशा सहनी को जानते हैं तो उन्हें बचा लें।

पिछले दिनों इकोनॉमिस्ट ने एक कवर स्टेारी की थी। आंकड़ा देकर बताया कि किस तरह यूरोप, अमेरिका जैसे देशों में मृत्यू का इंतजार सबसे बड़े ट्रामा बन रहा है। मेडिकल-इलाज और दूसरे साधन से इंसान की उम्र बढ़ी लेकिन अकेले लड़ने की क्षमता उतनी ही रही। मृत्यू का इंतजार आशा सहनी जैसे लोगों के लिए सबसे बड़ा कष्ट है। लेकिन मृत्यू और जीवन सबसे बड़ा लेवल करने वाला फैक्टर है।

I’m sharing a post of one of the doctors who works at KEM ….very aptly worded …..

Let me get wet but eyes of others should not get wet..
Now that all patients are settled by our doctors, nurses, I thought I will reflect on today’s unfortunate incident. Saw many posts, we don’t want bullet train, we don’t want Shivaji s statue. Give us basic facilities etc. I fully agree that basic facilities are necessary.
But I feel basic self discipline is also equally necessary. This is what happened -Suddenly it starts raining and no one is ready to come out of the station as no one wants to get wet. (Many of us would have done the same. So i request you to pledge with me). And there are a thousand passenger s on the bridge. And what happens next is few people slip on the bridge. And a stampede follows…. scare… panic… unfortunate… Some are stamped upon…some die..many were saved by KEM doctors….some made a video while stamping…and some started posting we do want bullet train..forget bullet train, we don’t deserve local trains if we don’t maintain discipline and people are killed in stampede on local stations….. Unfortunate event… My heartfelt condolences.
I pledge today that -
1. I will maintain discipline at public places
2. Will not block ways, especially in crowded places.
3. Will not panic and will not spread fear.
4. Will not rush unnecessarily.
When I saw the relatives of the dead and injured crying…I felt just because few people didnt want to get wet, so many eyes became wet… Guys few hundreds of you would have got wet and few of you would have got common cold. We doctors prefer treating that common colds than to painfully help the relatives identify the dead bodies. If we don’t pledge today, every rainy season we will have a stampede..
So, i pledge today – let me become wet but let me not make anyone’s eyes wet…

How To Survive A Stampede

I cannot change today’s tragedy .. but atleast sharing this article can save someone next time…

It is interesting to note that the force of only 6 or 7 people pushing in the same direction can generate up to 1000 lbs of force – enough to bend steel railings and topple brick walls.

During a deadly stampede, people can even die standing up… people die when pressure is applied to their bodies in a front to back direction, causing them not to be able to breath.

When pressure is applied to their side, they often survive, probably because their rib cages are protecting their ability to breath.

If you are in a crowd, a first and most important thing is to make yourself familiar with your surroundings and mentally notice alternate exits. No matter where you are, make sure you always know how to get out.

Make yourself aware of the type of ground you are standing on, and know that in a crowd of moving people wet or uneven ground can be slippery or hazardous, causing you to fall.

Be aware of the general atmosphere of the event, as panic situations can often be anticipated.

When in danger, a few seconds can make all the difference, giving you the possibility of taking advantage of your escaping route. Always stay closer to the escape route.

If you find yourself in the middle of a moving crowd do not fight against the pressure, do not stand still or sit down, because you could easily get trampled.

Instead, move in the same direction of the crowd; take advantage of any space that may open up to move sideways to the crowd movement where the flow is weaker.

Keep your hands up by your chest, like a boxer – it gives you movement and protects your chest.

If you fall, get up quickly. If you can’t get up because you are injured, get someone to pull you back up. If you have kids, lift them up.

If you fall and cannot get up, keep moving by crawling in the same direction of the crowd, or if that is not possible, then cover your head with your arms and curl up into the fetal position (do not lay on your stomach or back, as this dangerously exposes your lungs).

The worst scenario is to be pushed by the crowd against an immovable object. Try to stay away from walls, fences or barricades, as the crowd pressure can build up rapidly.

After you’re pushed forward, like in a wave there’s a lull. In that lull is your chance to move, and the way you move is on a diagonal, between pockets of people. There’s always space between people. A couple of steps sideways, another wave surge, then another couple of steps in the next lull.

You work your way out in that way till you get to the periphery.
