I meant for shopping not just pickup.
Are you referring to ‘order online/phone and pickup’ ?
Or are they limiting people entry by ticket/queue system ?

Govt may extend the lockdown.

The city of origin of Covid-19, Wuhan, will open market after more than 2 and half months, initially for ppl with Green QR codes. It took them rigorous efforts of Govt. and discipline & support from residents.

I’m SCARED with what is going around our streets, situation can worsen at it’s peak!!! We have most densely populated states with many even without basic necessities of life! It’s getting worst day by day. God bless India and our citizens!

Are you talking about Mumbai ? I heard it is most affected by lockdown.
I am in Bangalore and except for closed shops, schools there is not much difference. Locals hang out freely but apartments have locked themselves in.
Do you get token by phone/email or visit only ?? I have to enquire how things work in my nearby stores.

I am in Bangalore and I am talking about Bangalore
For tokens, you need to visit the store yourself
As far as closed stores are concerned ..many got notices and were imposed fine here, so it might take them a day or two to get back to senses again
Also most stores have stock for a day or two max, local transportation is also affected so this can also be the reason for store closure

Yeah..things should be normal after a week. No point in panic buying.

Do you reckon efforts??

That’s called collateral damage and that’s bound to happen after such a strong announcement. There must be some workaround to handle the situations on ground.. to feed all those under isolation, families of daily wagers, workers of unorganized sectors.. to ensure proper house supplies with assurances.. to take care of finances of the downtrodden to all sections. Have you noticed any such in the 8-pm speech?

You can not just throw people to the mercies of God (even for a day). Such a strong decision must accompany with ways to tackle it asap, though as little as possible.. And do you really see anything around yet? Now don’t count those lathicharges among them. Do you?

PS: Also don’t point me that 15000 crore package. Just divide that with 130 crore to get the per head figure.

FYI..

I agree with you that the efforts by Govt are not enough to combat the current situation nor heading towards the right direction. But people are worsening even more and risking their lives, their families and others!!

The government also says that there will be no disruption of essential services but as we can see they are not allowing delivery, transport services and delivery man of pantry, grofers and bigbasket even though all of them are exempted and come under essential services

State Govts are not permitting inter state movement except for FCI and other essential services. Also, in some of the States, there is confusion as to whether the lockdown order issued by the local administration exempts players like Bigbasket, Grofers etc. I am told even Big Bazaar and Spencers have shut down home delivery.

Yes government only makes fake promises no action just heropanti

This govt. has been disastrous in managing it’s own decisions. It is way better to allow home deliveries than people flooding next door kirana stores at the same hours.

Give govt some time. India is chaotic country where nothing works easily. Where US, Europe succumbed easily to corona India stands because our ‘shortcomings’ are also preventing spread of virus. Western societies work with mechanical precision.. very good when leader (brain) knows and understand the problem but disaster if it doesn’t . India works like ant colony , everyone is independent and it looks like chaos but in the end it works . Such thing can’t be brought down by invaders or viruses because this behavior has evolved out of thousands of years of evolution not by man made rules we see in West.

But the daily wagers, the labourers, they dont have time na. Thats the problem. The govt should have addressed their plight alongwith the lockdown. That also becomes a matter of emergency, just like this lockdown is a matter of emergency.

Stop hating people so much..no one in their right frame of mind would buy groceries for an year
Let me tell you why
1. Most of the groceries expire like in 2 months – 6months (Atta, dal, cooking oil …)
2. For those who are undertaking long term treatment, the dosage n medications might change every month/two..So only idiots will get 1 year long medications!

he said "govt is putting all efforts ", I asked what efforts. he can’t name one. instead goes on to blame ppl

I guess these efforts are also figment of imagination, like the much touted “development”. we here it all the time, but everyone is yet to see it

You don’t know
How many bags of groceries they purchased?
How many bags of groceries one can carry himself?
How many bags of groceries are enough for a month/two for a 4/5 member family
Yet here you are…making baseless claims, defending something and blaming something else…Be responsible!

There are no rickshaws working in my area so need to carry groceries home on my own. They are giving tokens but glad not much crowd. Some shops are opening and closing when they hear about police coming. Nobody cares about the government.

It is same everywhere
No local transport except* that I have seen local buses operating for emergency services here in Bengaluru but those too rare
And regarding the temp closure/reopening of the shops, there’s not enough police force to keep a check everywhere. For what I have seen here , many shops are still selling stuff via second entrance

You speak in hollow terms just like modi. when questioned , you can’t answer one.
how could you, coz he is doing nothing. Deep down you too realize he’s nothing than a gas bag.

Some rickshaws are working but want 100 bucks for 1 km.
With so many people not interested in the lockdown, they might extend our lockdown. Nobody is obeying like they did in Italy and China pensive
