Hi dimers, looking for help from medical dimers..
I am in my mid 30s and recently got diagnosed with high bp when I went for food poisoning..here is my flashback.i was away from india for past 4 years and for past 2 years i am facing digestion issue (burping and throat lump sensation) after eating which automatically solves in one or two hours.so when I recently had food poisoning thought this castro causes that pain and went to doctors but ct scan reveals nothing but reveals a newer issue i.e my bp @ 170/110 and i thought it is because of castro issue stress.. but later when I checked continuously for 5 days it range from 140 to 220 and i went to Apollo fearing this is too high but I never experienced any symptoms .i am active like before..the fully body check up reveals no issues and doctor suggested metasartan 25 and telma40
After having medicine for 21 days i didn’t feel any difference in bp and it’s still ranging from 140 to 220 but started feeling occasional headaches and mild chest light pains only after taking medicines .. now i don’t what really causes this bp as i am not guy who is easily stressed but I have sleep issues earlier like sleeping @ 1-2 and waking @ 8-9. And doctor failed to address if this bp related with castro issue.

Please suggest me how can I reduce bp or should I change my doctor..

A simple Doctor(General Physician) had given this advice to my family member for the same issue but BP was 140-150 and there were symptoms like headache..etc
1. Completely avoid salt for few days, drink little more water than normal
2. 2-3 tender coconuts per day
3. Eat millet rice avoid spicy food for some days
4. Walk daily and reduce weight(may not apply to u)
And BP came down after a month along with weight reduction.

Yes water is imp.
Add more fruits like apple in your diet..
And don’t forget to laugh hardheartedly (medically proven) and also exercise.

The only way it may come down is by life style modification. Healthy food. Better exercise regime.
rest please follow doctors advice on medicine. High BP is a serious condition and can even cause organ failure.

These are serious issues, what are you expecting from DD community? A medical advice or prescription for meds?

Find a good doctor and follow his advice, you can’t get anything here. Solving hypertension issues is a long term solution and takes time. Be patient and trust your doctor.

Although I can’t help regarding your ailment (which is serious for sure) but I do have noticed that you get stressed rather easily. You MUST work on that & start taking things on a lighter note. Best wishes 👍

You have had digestion issue for 2 years. Believe me you will have to work on your digestion, to avoid any more chronic diseases.
and avoid table salt. Take your iodine from lentils.
Eat only 1. Whole grains 2. Vegetables 3. Fruits 4. Dry fruits (soaked) 5. Dairy 6. Pulses/seeds. and For non veg, you should talk with your doctor. No baked/deep fried stuff. Meditate/exercise. REMEMBER to solve your digestion issue.

I think now u are suffering from anxiety. Sometimes when we are suffering from digestion problems it creates gas and it shoots up bp. Once you saw the the high bp reading on monitor, you got stressed and it created a fear inside you. Also some patients got high readings at hospital due to fear. Drink more water make ur urine output more. Try some yoga in morning. Try to avoid bp medicine at this age. Order mi 3 band, get your bp and pulse reading on that without too much of thoughts. Hopefully it helps you.

follow a regular exercise like walking or cycling, if possible go around the evening, it will get you to bed early, have a good night sleep everyday. always consult doctors for such issues. hope you get well soon.

high BP can be hereditary also. I was detected with high BP at the age of 16.
lifestyle changes can reduce it but can not completely cure it. you need to take medication.
low sodium and high potassium helps. coconut water is good source of potassium. cutting down on salt and avoiding all pre-processed foods (salt is used as a preservative) helps. avoid red meat also and increase intake of fish. walk about 5 km a day. drink min 4-5 lts of water a day. have at least 7.5 hrs sleep daily at fixed time.

consult some other cardiologist and follow the prescription. Don’t skip the next appointment.

as other dimer said, don’t have salt in your food. Eat Oats daily twice a day one full bowl, apple, oranges, cucumber.

Keto diet is the best solution for you… less intake of sodium doesn’t help much…but you should avoid packaged and processed salt..get Himalayan pink salt…daily eat 2-3 avacado fruit..
