Hi,

I have had unauthorized transactions happening on multiple of my credit/debit card in the past 1 month. At all times these unauthorized transactions have happened, I have received an OTP SMS for the fraud transaction and within 2-3 seconds received the transaction confirmation SMS. I’ve blocked multiple cards and got replacement cards but in one instance I got a replacement card today, just opened it myself (it was sealed) and did not enter the card number anywhere but still unauthorized transaction happened on this replacement card.

With all these transactions I have got OTP SMS and then transaction confirmation SMS. All these transactions happen on ‘PAYMENTSPAYU’ and ‘PAYU PAYMENTS PVT LTD’ merchant. I haven’t shared any OTP with anyone anytime. Can anyone help me understand how is this happening? I understand that card details might be stolen but how is the OTP getting stolen from my phone? I’ve checked my phone with Norton security and there is no malware or anything. Please help provide your views fellow dimers as I’ve become tired raising unauthorized transaction disputes now pensive

PS:- I’m using a Realme U1 phone, could the phone be a culprit transmitting OTP by any chance? Or Is it possible that someone is tracking and readin my Airtel Sim card?

I know but blocking and then activating only when needed isn’t a functionality with all cards. So that’s not feasible cry

Not sure how OTP’s are getting stolen rolleyes

Change Mobile number for all cards and use basic phone for that SIM, do not use smartphone for bank related mobile number, at the best you can have windows phone. Android is wide open, no way to find the leaks, as all apps ask for hell lot of permissions.

Also logout email from all devices and relogin.

realme OS settings provide details of the apps that have access to SMS and also has an option to protect the SMS details. Check which apps are accessing SMS data.
if your card issuer allow blocking online transactions, you can also do that for some weeks. it would frustrate the hacker to move on.

The credit card team of the bank is saying that the transaction was 3d secured and hence the initial dispute which was raised while the transactions were under settlement was closed. Now they’ve got settled and bank has taken a chargeback request. I just need to know that I’ll get the money back right?

PS:- 2 of the unauthorized transactions are still under settlement and the bank says I’ll need to raise a chargeback if they get settled. Is there any way to get these under settlement transactions void?
