Now imagine the number of SIMS they have given away for free in the last few days!

Many are blasting them on Social Sites for not activating sim for 4 or 5 days! Now seriously those people should think how much work at a maximum they can handle at their office on a given day.

And meanwhile the Official Launch might be on Sep 1 or Sep 15, they might have to pay appx 2,400 crores internet bill and we paid them nothing till now!

And if they Continue to give same quality of All Services which they have given last few months to till 20 Aug, then many are ready shell out more for their Communication bills.

In the last one week travel of mine to different locations by various modes of travel, Never had a problem in signal issues or data issues.

Looks like Golden days are ahead in the Indian Tele-Communication Industry, But yes, we have to wait and watch if they can maintain the same quality standards.

Sim is just activated today under JPO offer

Speedtest shows wrong results sometimes
When i got my sim in May, sometimes it used to show only 5Mbps in speedtest but the actual speeds were more than 30
So what u can do is try downloading something directly like via IDM, you will get to know real speed of your network
And also Jio is throttling the speeds by using proxies and for that using premium VPN is the only solution

I guess it was reliance who started a revolution in the telecom space previously (going by reports of how they did it when they started RCOM- was too young when they started so don’t have a first hand experience about it). But this time I believe they will break this telecom cartel lead by Airtel by pricing data like a rarely expensive commodity. I do agree they are under huge debt running into lakhs of crores but they should have planned for economy rather that getting into shady deals with govt (corruption did add to the cost).

BSNL could have achieved this revolution only if this private cartel stopped their lobby to stop BSNL from upgrading/improving their services. Many argue that BSNL is the worst telecom operator but they should be aware that it is these private players who stopped them from becoming good. They have crores of latest equipment lying in warehouses because someone doesn’t want them to use those equipment. In terms of service their exchanges have improved a lot and are becoming customer oriented (at least in a big city and couple of small towns). I have seen all these ‘uncles’ and ‘aunties’ (I shouldn’t be addressing them that way but then again that is how people know them) trying to break that old image of bureaucratic way of functioning

This app will not only show you the real speed, it also has a lot of other useful info about your signal (including the band). I used this app to find the best spot for my cellphone within my house. Then the download speed went from about 20 Mbps to 40 Mbps.

@Others: Jio is throttling download speed of torrents/files per thread so increase the max number of connections in IDM to 24 or 32.

(1) Which phone have you put the Jio SIM in — Lyf or some other device?
(2) When you connect to the Hotspot from a PC or another phone, what IP address do you get?
(3) USB tethering to a Windows PC should work flawlessly. What IP address do you see for the “Remote NDIS…” adapter on your PC?
