Citi reward rate is very low. I am using citi cashback card which gives only point five percent cashback. Citi never gives instant discount, it provides only cashbacks which will take 90 days. Never comes with LTF, 500 per year. No waiver. Better go for HDFC or AMEX.

You can go for Citi Cashback card which will give you 5% cashback for utility bill payments on Citiback Bill Pay and 0.5% cashback on other spends. The cashback is directly credited to your card on crossing Rs. 500/- and hence no hassle of redeeming it manually. Though there is no option for waiver of joining and annual fee of Rs. 500 on this card. Citi Indian Oil credit card and Citi Rewards card has fee waiver on spending Rs. 30,000/- in an year, may be you can opt for these.

Also if you apply on Citi site directly now using code CITI1000 you’ll get Rs 1000/- cashback.

5℅ cashback is capped to 150 per month when you opt for auto bill pay.

paytm first citi credit card is better than Citi rewards?
Don’t want to pay much on annual charges since rewards are not good for any card.
Reason for getting citi card is only cashback current offers (15% cb on snapdeal, MMT 1200 cb on 5000)

Going by your requirement only 2 cards are suitable:

1. Paytm Citi Card
it gives 1% cb, 500 fees waived on 50k spends
but problem is citi is not giving this card to all and easily so higher probability you may not get it

2. Citi cashback card
5%/0.5% cb, 500 fees not waived

There is citi referral which gives referrer some benefit
I would recommend not to go direct and better go by referral
That will double the benefit

2000 and 1000 Rs for referral?

Citi cashback card is not free.

Either need to get paytm citi card or Citi reward/fuel card.

Best credit card as of now is Amazon ICICI card esp if you are a prime customer AFAIK.

Catch is you need to be an ICICI customer already to get one as of now.

Yes, Paytm Citi card is a good option and it has higher reward rate than Cashback for all spends.
