I have an account in S.B.I. On 19 December 2016 i attempted to withdraw some money From an ATM of S.B.I. The transaction was not suscessful and no cash came out of the machine . even i got a slip stating * “Sorry unable to process
Responce code 070”* the time mentioned on the slip was 18:50 . There was long queue so i went outside the atm. and used mini statement facility through call( If one calls 09223866666 he will receive a sms stating last five transaction)
So i checked my account statement through Mini Statement, in which it was mentioned that Rs.**** have been deducted from my account & remaining balance is Rs.**** on time 18:52 . There is no doubt that it was an wrong deduction .After that i went to my bank . At first they asked me to wait till 7 working days for the refund so i waited but after 8th day of the incident i again went to bank this time they asked me to complain to toll free number about the issue. I complained there to but after 7 day i got a sms stating “Your complain has been attended & closed after resolution as :CLAIM REJECTED: ATM BRANCH HAS CONFIRMED THIS TRANSACTION AS SUCCESSFUL. RELEVANT DOCUMENTS SENT TO YOUR BRANCH .
So this time a lodged a written complain and guess what this time to received same sms stating same thing. So i went to the bank and asked them to show me the relevant document . The manager open a file in which all the successful transaction of that particular date was showing (with to many details like txt no. , transaction time and many more things were mentioned ) so he was looking for that particular txt no and time and but there was no transaction from my account around that time period .So i argued with him that if it is not showing here than he must refund the amount . On that he said “It almost two month old data some data must have been deleted” And he asked me again to call toll free number and complain again.

So any suggestion on how could i get my money back..

I have few documents as proof with me
1. Written complain to the bank
2.ATM Slip received from atm
3.Mini statement received as sms on mobile

Ps. kindly tag any one who can help me in this issue

Did you check next person’s withdrawal amount and the cash he got from ATM?
I had such case when next person got the remaining cash as money was stuck when I was taking out. It came with next person.

I didn’t checked with the next person at atm. Bro it was time of demonetization every one can only get only Rs. 2500 from atm daily. and that time atm where churning only Rs 2000 notes. And when i was using atm there was no sound of notes being counted (When every time atm churns out the amount there is a sound of machine counting notes) and the atm screen did also mentioned something like transaction failed( I didn’t recall it correctly) . But yes when the manager was showing me details of all the transaction of that day almost all transaction was of 2000 rupees only.

If error code is shown in the slip , how it can be successful transaction ?

Send a written complaint and ask written reply from bank , you can also complain to ombudsman later on.

Same thing had happened with me with CBI Account, amount of 10k was deducted but it never came out from machine. I complained in bank but they took this very lighly and said ho jayega itna tension kyon le rahey ho. Write an application and will send it to delhi HO, i was not satisfied with her answer also she started to fight with me orally.

Next day i went again to branch and waited for branch manager and explained him full incident about the withdrawal and he said i will handle it personally and from that day the amount got reversed to bank account in next 7 days.

As this was first time with me as it was 10k i was very tensed.

@abhim25
Now Complain to RBI, RBI has made some rules-
Bank has denied one time, now first lodge complain with RBI and then SBI, and in that sequence SBI will be giving you fine for those missing money until they make it successful. As per i know.
