Fraudster has stolen almost 49000 from my mother SBI account and left 400 in account. Fraudster has done tranasction in digital wallet Freecharge, Olamoney, Mobikwik and Oxigenwallet. Need your support to figure out fraudster details using these digital wallets. Anyone working in these companies? I have transaction detail or other important detail.

first lodge fir in local police / cybersrime cell n in parallel mail to all this wallet companies to reverse or atleast block the amount. tell them tht u have the card details which u can provide for proof. also mail them the fir copy. also go n contact sbi branch manger to charge back. tell him u have lodged fir n share the same.
also once u have fir findout which operaor is the mobile number n contact tht customer center n get the details by showing the fir.
so all this asap today morning itself before they withdraw the money.
Just call your bank helpline number. They might reverse the amount if possible. And the reversal is possible in case of above wallet transactions.
Once my father also got a call from a fraudster while he was at home. He was saying that my dad’s account will be blocked and to keep it from being blocked, he will have to give his card details. My dad was walking towards his wallet but I took the phone from him and told the caller to f*** off. I explained my dad that bank never calls you and to never ever provide any bank details to anyone on the phone even me.
Once I got a call from someone claiming that I have unused promo balance in my account when I didn’t even own any card. I just gave him wrong details and wasted his time.
This is why govt says all mobile numbers are to be linked with aadhaar and biometric! also the bank accounts should be linked with aadhar, pan card and also biometric!
these linkings will only increase the frauds.
and these fraudsters will become more powerful when everything will be controlled by OTPs.
Chances are very less of recovery. They usually operate from naxalite area where even police dare to dwell. Banks … you must have seen them typing with one finger so forget all about if they have any knowledge how to proceed. mostly money goes to pos machines that are withdrawal immediately from atm.
Yes, I have seen some of transaction from POS. I am trying my end as my mother lives in another city. So taking time to do all activities.
Till now
- Blocked the card
- I have reported all transaction to corresponding digital wallet companies but many are saying not enough to trace transaction and some wants email from bank manager
- My mother has reported to bank manager and I told bank manager to send email to corresponding digital wallet
- In the process of lodging FIR in local police station
- in the process of lodging complaint to Cybercrime police station
Friend, do you have any other suggestion to do or any advice?
Onlinework is also a scam so please stay away from these sites and calls.its trap thank you.
It is the responsibility of children to educate the elderly well in advance about such frauds. Banks keep on sending SMS and Emails.
I use Mi phone and auto record all calls. Received such calls three times and handed over the recordings to the police. One of them was caught.
Could this be any help?
If fraud transaction happens due to negligence, bank is not responsible but yes after reported the case and then further transaction happens. This is my own understanding.
Till now, I have done these activities-
- Informed the bank and block the card
- Informed the branch manager about these transaction and he told my mother that he is sending mail to all required department.
- Reported to local police station
- Lodged online cybercrime complain
- Sent email to important cybercrime team
- Sent email to all 4 digital wallet with all required details
I am not sure how helpful to tag minister on twitter and post all details openly.
I am able to talk to Fraudster on his mobile 7319542545 and once I told the money he stole, he dropped the call. anything else ??
Educated my Mother immediately after reading this…
Or as I choose
Make 0 Balance in my mother’s account
numbers (from which calls come) are disposed or in general the fear of authorities is nearly zero in their mind.
some are just tele-callers and do not even understand the full implication of their activity.
rather than looking for insider help from Wallet companies, first lodge a cyber crime complaint on-line or offline.
and parallel (separate) complaint to usual thana under whose jurisdiction the area/home falls.
then pray. it is said prayers help.
[it is also said, most of these Police personnel are really untrained and uninterested in following up on investigations of small crime. for them such cases are ‘small’. Prayers and repeated follow-up via social media is your best bet!]
