Dear Merchant! This is to inform that payments collected through Paytm QR code shall be charged a commission of 1.99% + GST from Friday, 20th April 2018 onward. In case you do not agree with these commercials, SMS STOP to 53030.
Attn all merchants, settle your wallet balance quickly and transfer to bank immediately.

So shops will keep on displaying Qr codes ..but when you pay they won’t accept

Net impact, paytm cashback of 70% stands reduced to 68%

This is one of the reasons people in general still don’t trust e-commerce companies.
They change policies at the drop of a hat & start charging fees out of blue.
Of course it wasn’t sustainable business model to begin with, but still people will feel cheated. Paytm should have advertised this as a paid service being given for free for a limited time.
That way people won’t feel any breach of trust.

i guess they will not do this… nobody will accept paytm now…
I think they should reduce the fee to 0.5% instead of 2% and then 90% of the small merchants won’t leave.
