Please help in planning solo trip to Vietnam and Thailand

Hi friends
I have 9 days with me from 22 Dec to 31 Dec. I am thinking of planning a solo fun trip from India to Thailand & Vietnam. But I am unable to plan. Some questions are-
1- The Delhi-Bangkok return ticket costs 24k but Delhi-Vietnam costs 30k. If I plan Delhi→Bangkok→Vietnam→Delhi, the flights are is costing me 32k. If I do Delhi-Bangkok return and do Bangkok-Vietnam return, it is again costing me 30k and 2 times visa on arrival charges for 2 times entry to Thailand. Is there any cheap way out?
2- How many days does it take to get Vietnam visa in advance?
3- Since it is around new year, will I get on the spot (offline when I reach) hotels in Thailand & Vietnam? Or should I book in advance?
4- Or should I just cancel the Vietnam trip totally & just explore Thailand?

And how much expensive by the way? Flights are 25k return and hotels are 3k/night. Same as before (i think).
If u r on budget…. thn definitely u picked the wrng time…. !!! Evrythng around new yrs is expensive…. !! If u r gng ahead…. delhi bgk vietnam delhi seems bttr option… chk hostels fr cheap accomodation…

Hey guys, thanks for the update. Main motive is just relaxation nothing else. So even destinations within India are fine with me.
@mitra – Yeah, I think Rann of kutch / sikkim etc are the places that I will plan now. But even Sikkim is turning out to be costly for single person trip. Any particular destination recommendations for solo trip? Budget under 50k all inclusive. Interested in natural beauty. Have already seen Ladakh, Andamans.

VISA Fee is exempt for Thailand till 28 fec 2017
