Hi, guys
I ask you guys to do me a favor…please retweet the below links. Unfortunately Railway board has withdrawn the vacancies after the commencement of UPSC ESE prelims and they are no longer recruiting in railway for 2020 (neither for CSE not for ESE). This will impact a lot of students who wasted 1-2 years of their career and were hoping to get qualified…It’s shocking that something like this can happen in UPSC

VU bro. Wtf man. But bhai I read an article about this. Here is the link. It appeared on 5th Jan https://www.thehindu.com/news/national/telangan...
But they should not have played with hard working aspirants like this. I mean Railway is ECE branch’s dream job. And they wasted lakhs of money at coaching for meager number of coveted post. Damn bro. Damn

They merged four services of Railways. They did it because they are going for privatization. Now they have cancelled the posts. I know this was coming and it is here. Already the vacancies in govt sector are at all time low. This further hinders dreams of many young aspirants. Those who are planning to prepare for govt exams, should carefully plan.

I would sound absurd but you always need a fallback plan untill you achieve Plan A.

Yes this merger news of IRMS came in December itself. But they told that new rules will be followed in 2021 and meanwhile the current recruitment (2020) will continue to take place via ESE/CSE. But after exam they suddenly announced (someone filed an RTI) that they are going to withdraw the vacancies this year itself….

Criticism and Protests are integral part of Democracy and I understand that.

But the problem here is that ministry honcho who get elected don’t under Ground Zero issue and do what they want.

My biggest concern is if they stopped recruitment why people are not talking about it over media platforms

The corporate phenomenon for this is “ Cost Reduction ” which is on all time high.

Everyday I read something which is heart wrecking about employment which is indirectly connected to how Govt. and Private honcho are trying to lower the cost and the ultimate way is to move people out of jobs.

That’s how things work with us engineers…those who are getting good marks and feeling like they might get selected…are the ones against this (and that percentage is very less say 5000 people… total from all branches). While the rest of the people don’t care (might be happy too 🤐)… That’s why this issue might not get enough traction …. Anyways people are thinking to go to CAT ….

The Railway Board has withdrawn its request to the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for recruiting Group A officers under various cadres, setting the ball rolling for the merger of eight railway cadres into one service, according to a letter written by the board.

This also meant that around 100 seats would be reduced from the civil services exams because of the withdrawal of the railways from recruitment of officers, officials said on Wednesday.

The development comes despite large-scale protests by the officers of the civil service cadre who have raised concerns over losing seniority and career prospects.

In a letter dated January 9, the Railway Board has said firmed up indents for nine organised services such as the IRSE, the IRSME, the IRSEE, the IRSS, the IRTS, the IRAS, the IRPS and the RPF through the Engineering Services Examination-2020 and the Civil Services Examination-2020 were advised, but after the cabinet decision to merge the cadres, they were withdrawn.

“Consequent upon Cabinet’s decision to introduce Indian Railway Management Service (IRMS) from next recruitment cycle, Ministry of Railways has decided to withdraw its indents for above services except Indian Railway Protection Force Service (IRPFS), erstwhile known as RPF, through Engineering Services Examination-2020 and Civil Services Examination-2020,” the Railway Board has written to the UPSC.

“UPSC and DoPT (Department of Personnel and Training) are accordingly requested to please take necessary action,” it has said.

The technical personnel from mechanical, civil and other engineering services are presently recruited through the Engineering Services Examination, while for non-technical posts, candidates are selected through the Civil Services Examination.
