So I have this beetel 450tc3 wireless modem with an old plan 2mbps speed.
The latest plans are something like 30gb data 16mbps for 900 rupees. My questions:
1 – Airtel says I need to buy another modem from them (some Huawei) since Beetel 450 does not support 16mbps speed. I checked that my area supports max of 4mbps speed not 16mbps. Do I still need to buy this Huawei modem from them? If not, what other cheap wireless online modems can I buy? If yes, they say they will exchange my old Beetel with new Huawei for 1000 rupees.
2 – 800 Rupees for 30gb is still expensive I think. Anyway to get more GB in less rupees?

Bro, Airtel is Airtel. The Quality Service cant be Provided by others except Airtel. I would suggest to stick to airtel and update the Modem is upgrading to 16mbps else leave it as it is. I am currently using 48 mbps airtel plan at very attractive price as well. opt for static IP for good stability and reliability.
for high speeds, you need a fibre optic based FTTH connection. Your existing modem is a copper ADSL modem.
So in that case, why cant i use BSNL’s Huewai HG630a model? I already have that for BSNL broadband.
@dragonball beetel 450tc3 is an ADSL2+ model and should support up to 24mbps. If you are moving to 4mbps, there is no reason to change your modem unless it is faulty! Huawei HG630a is a VDSL model that is also compatible with ADSL.
Please see my previous post on VDSL.

I’m getting 16 Mbps, 80GB+20GB for other Airtel connections, unlimited local and STD calls, for 700 p.m. no competition really
Which city? Is that a standard plan or you negotiated?
Hyderabad. Standard v fiber plans launched. (All v fiber plans being offered with free unlimited calling)
