WASHINGTON: The coronavirus pandemic has driven the global economy into a downturn that will require massive funding to help developing nations, IMF chief Kristalina Georgieva said Friday.

“It is clear that we have entered a recession” that will be worse than in 2009 following the global financial crisis, she said in an online press briefing.

With the worldwide economic “sudden stop,” Georgieva said the fund’s estimate “for the overall financial needs of emerging markets is $2.5 trillion.” But she warned that “we believe this is on the lower end.” Over 80 countries already have requested emergency aid from the International Monetary Fund.

China’s bioterrorism worked. Other countries fall huge when compared to China. Only untill now.Expected more. China protected their financial hubs Beijing and Shanghai.. hard to believe 15+ deaths in both those citieshttps://cdn0.desidime.com/attachments/photos/610004/original/Screenshot_2020-03-28-01-23-30-434_com.twitter.android.png?1585339012

Yes everyone will be active after the event. We said this and that. But a lot of economists and wannabe experts, like me (No real knowledge, a bit from here and there and hawabaji) were anticipating a recession. But it would come in form of this was beyond my wildest fantasies.

Not the recession, it is Socio-Economic Depression. Staying happy is the need of the hour. Focus on urgent needs, minimize wastage & cut down expenses.
