redmi 2 screen fades

what is DD? A repairing shop? Go to service center 1st and then to a local shop. Get a quote and get it done if it fits you.

1) Go to xiaomi service center(if not too far from your home) or any other local service shop to check if screen replacement is necessary or not.

2) If screen replacement is not required then you can go for repair.(cost will less)

3) If screen replacement is required then it’s your choice to get it repaired or not.

I have redmi 2 and it’s screen was broken, There was big difference in price of new screen at different places. we inquired cost at 8-10 different shops and also xiaomi service center(so I recommend you to do the same)
Service center told around 2600. Local shops told from 1800-2800.

So based on my experience I can tell you that it will cost you around minimum 1500(if you go to some special mobile market) or 1800-2600 if you go to any random shop in your area.

If you will sell now(working condition) you will get 1200 on flipkart exchange or around 1500 in sites like reglobe or atterobay.

My suggestion

You already used mobile for 1 year. If your mobile was working fine before this happened and you are willing to use it for minimum 6-8 months and suppose you spend around 1800 on new screen then you should definitely go for it. (If we suppose you will get back minimum 1000-1200 on selling this device after 6-8 months.) So at the end it will cost you around 600-800

First find out which part is damaged,if screen is damagedcu should buy it online and get it repaced from local repair shop

Anyone One knows when will MIU8 ofiicially launch

First go to the local service guy and find the exact problem. If the display needs to be replaced, since the digitizer (touch) is intact. You just need the display. Just talk to that ebay seller and ask him to list just the display, use any available coupon to bring the price down further. Once you receive it get it assembled from the local service guy or DIY from the youtube videos if you have patience and time.
