My friends have VU, their feedback is good. I don’t know anyone having TCL, so cannot say anything about it.
As we are talking about VU and TCL here anyways I have a doubt too if anyone can answer. Why are these priced much much cheaper than reputed brands?
Also, how are the viewing angles in general? In our hall we have sofas on opposite corners but the TV will be placed close to sofa on one corner so I am concerned about viewing angles.
I was considering LeEco TV but none of my friends have it nor can I get a demo in a showroom too so afraid to give it a try. If I am not wrong it’s the same with VU too, I want to get a demo before I can purchase it. Any leads here?

First check local market whether Vu or TCL have local reach. In my case i made up my mind to buy Vu Tv (it was 3-4 months ago) then i checked local markets and Vu was nowhere. Micromax was still there. I bought Micromax Tv and i happy with it. Few of my relatives have Micromax and they are happy with it too. They also offer 2 years extended warranty. I m saying this because after sales service is a major concern with these brands. Although for Micromax it may be bad but something is better than nothing.
@raghupro The guy who came for Micromax TV installation was from a third party. He said that they had tie up with Micromax, Vu and these less known brands. He told me that all these TV’s have the same motherboard from Philips/Llyod

i checked in local showrooms they don’t even know about VU, only MMX TV’s are avilable.

TCL is a Big Brand, they manufacture their own TVs
Vu TVs are all rebranded ones AFAIK
even BPL uses the same rebranded Vu TV (102cm FHD TV)
None of my friends or relatives use TCL TVs so cant comment on the quality n service but reviews are good. TCL has a very good future in India
Vu ~ Many of them are using including many dimers and they are very much satisfield

That’s what i m saying. Check Vu’s website to see where’s the nearest Service Centre. I think these brands do not offer onsite service or do they?
I suggest take a branded TV once and forget for 5+ years.
TV is a device which we use all day, so for some bucks don’t compromise on brand.
Take Samsung Panasonic LG Sony best.
This is my opinion
AFter reading all your comments i am more confused.
Buy Indian, buy VU.

Both Televisions are good as per reviews, but how many years it will work well after purchase. Go for Some reputed brands like LG, Samsung, Sony, Panasonic, ONIDA etc.
Your budget may be upto Rs 22000/-
My two options are if you like.
Onida 100.6cm (39.6) Full HD LED TV

BPL Vivid 101cm (40) Full HD LED TV

Branded ones? Are they come with life time warranty?
I bought VU tv in 2015 April and still working fine, one of my friend bought Sony TV six months ago and now it is in service centre

Totally agree. It depends on luck too.
@cody Buy VU or Micromax and take 2 years extended warranty. (So total 3 years). IMO it will easily last long more than 5 years.
2 benefits of it:
1) You are paying less price now and getting good-value for money product/feature as compared to established brands.
2) Technology changes rapidly. So you will get chance to buy new technology TV if something goes wrong after some years.

Yes. Had bad experiences with these. First Reputed TV Brand in India was AKAI
@cody, Last month I went to Bangkok, I had the chance of comparing TCL, Sony, LG & Samsung over there… I felt TCL to have an edge over the other brands in terms of features, size and picture quality in terms of value proposition. But don’t get fooled by the ones you see @ amazon, these are mostly outdated ones. Check eBay for imported ones, if you wanna gamble.
TCL hands down.
VU was being sold at CROMA stores until few years back…. now they have gone only online… even TCL is Amazon exclusive… so comparing them at stores wont be possible… one can only rely on the reviews on the websites…
also as per GST recommendations there might be some increase in prices from April 2017 so buy before that….
3-4 months ago i also had the same confusion between VU tv and Micromax Tv
went to local market to check the quality,
Finally Landed for LG 43 inch full HD LED tv, It’s Just awsome
Dont go for any VU tv or Mircormax, the quality cannot be compared to LG, Sony
Market price of sony tv everywhere was around 48k but i got it for 32k after paytm cashback,
in my opinion, Go for Sony or LG only

VU is cheap as well as it has good picture quality …
Dont buy mmx . And dont go for tcl .
I bet u will see quality like sony in VU
VU tv is sold by some companies (croma and vijay sales) in Mumbai. It has good reviews and almost no complaints both online and offline.
Just go for it…
Can anyone tell VU LED TV or TCL LED TV which one is best among two in terms of Picture quality with rating out of 10?
I suggest Sanyo
