I am writing this because seeing many cases of fraudlent transactions these days.Mentioning whatever I know about this below.
1. Don’t save your any bank account details, it’s password/pin on mobile or any device.
2. If you are using any banking apps or apps/website related to bank transactions, don’t use automatic login.
3.Now a days public WiFi is not safe.Even your own WiFi ( if it has default password or open access).Avoid making transactions on public WiFi. Use mobile data in such case. Details on your mobile can be hacked through connected WiFi if someone tracks your IP/Mac details.
4. Don’t get trapped in fake offers. Many sites give fake offer sign ups. They are here to theft your data. If you use same acc/password details to sign up, you are in danger..
There are so many ways, even you won’t know that your data is being stolen.
5. Use temporary block card feature provided by banks to secure your ATM cards. Many banks offer this feature. So when you want to do the transaction, that time you can switch ON/OFF it.
SBI has SBI Quick, for ICICI available on iMobile HDFC has some Total Control app..check if your bank has this feature.
6. For additional safety, use secondary verification like mobile OTP or 2FA (Two Factor Authenticator). Many apps still don’t support 2FA. Check Google Authenticator app on play store.
7. If you find any fraud with your account, immediately report it to the your bank. Also block your cards temporarily/permanently.
8.Always keep habit of remembering your precious details. Don’t become fully dependable on mobile.
That’s all. Many of you may be already aware of
whatever I mentioned. Suggest your tips as well.

Indeed a great useful post bro. KG!
Most major issues seem to be covered by you guys. Sorry for replying late.. but I’m surely gonna put my inputs if I find anything later on. Will follow this post too.
PS: I’m personally using many currently. Cheers @mastervijay bro for thinking alike.
Thanks Bhai.
All are basic points but important ones.
Point 6 was new to me.
2FA is there for Amazon account.
You can check.
Adding one more point : —> Don’t set same password in all social networking websites, shopping sites, Digital payment applications etc..etc..
but how to remember 100s of password?
Short and crisp points:
1.Use secured sites(with https padlock symbol in address bar)
2.Always clear cache/browsing history from third party PC’s after using your personal data.
3.Don’t install unnecessary apps with lots of permissions.. eg: a camera app should not ask for internet permission/telephonic permission
4. Don’t repond/share your personal info to unknown callers
5. Update google apps and phone software always
6. Keep a backup of your phone data in cloud and do settings in your mobile and google to erase all your data remotely when your mobilephone got stolen. By this you can avoid data stealing.
7.dont write atm pin anywhere in card.. also cover the cvv number with a masking tape.
8. Save bank helpline number in mobile to contact cc incase of blocking card during theft/missing.. also don’t store card details in any website, enter manually all the time.
9. Use ATMs only in crowded place.. there might be chances of installing cloning machine in non crowded areas.
10.A small tip for password with remembering technic with more security. Use same password with different prefix & suffix eg: for twitter you can keep password like Tpassword@r (here T R stands for twitter.. and replace your favourite word in the place of password regularly) Fpassword@b for Facebook.. you can easily remember it too..
Enjoy the technology with safety..
@mastervijay thanks bro
Good Suggestions..will follow the password technique
Useful post. Karma given
So simple. Just use two bank account one for primary and another for secondary.
Keep your hefty bucks on primary and don’t apply for credit/debit card, get only net banking.
Make all other transactions using upi /debit card/credit cards from secondary account and try to maintain nominal balance in secondary..
Be safe..
That’s good tip.Keep majority funds in one and use secondary for doing transactions.
Sometimes primary account don’t meet all needs.Secondary account is handy in such case.
Vu.
Since last week I’m getting e-mail/sms daily regarding “Your OTP for new device sign-in” from mobikwik. Does mobikwik remind me to login at least once in year or is there anything else …
Many users are experiencing this issue. I am pretty sure its not sms bomb/bombitup.
Recently some users on twitter complained mobikwik about fraud transactions done on the app.
Even the users who have uninstalled the app are getting sms.
Recently used Amex Voucher in Marriot Hotel when I received for spend based program excess amount I paid via that card itself. The Restaurant Manager took a photo of my amex card saying they need it as proof for finance department and it’s safe. Mobile will be within Finance Dept only.etc.
Is it Safe?… Anyone else faced same thing?
I don’t think that’s safe, although experienced it in the past. IDK, why people keep on asking that but, that definitely has threats involved as your card details can be accessed by many. (I prefer to pay in cash or from secondary cards in such cases) Only a physical verification of card number is enough though. I have issues giving cards to people over counter too and remain vigil all the time.
VU n KG bro. Definetly a needed post now a days.
Privacy and security is very complex now a days. Our security is only as good as it’s weakest link. Great post for newbies, but fraudster are evolving themselves and so should we.
Note: I will mention few more points which should be added
1. Don’t leave your card with anyone. Keep your card in front of you when doing physical swipe transaction.
2. While doing ATM transaction aways check ATM swipe slot and keypad for any possible skimmer.
3. Don’t swipe card on pos machine, do insert it and authenticate with chip + pin.
4. Don’t install unknown software on PC/mobile. Try to avoid cracked application if possible.
5. Try to restrict sms/call access of apps which do not need this feature. Never give root privilege to any unknown app (on rooted phone). Do not give any additional developer or system privilege to app (many suggest to follow guide and give them extra permission).
@DaBomb Thanks..Noted.
Many people root their device to get access for premium apks/games..Even I used to do same thing couple of years back with my old mobile using SuperSU.
Rooting gives full control of the system, but can be misused if one is not careful.
Yaa true. Nd downloading premium version apps from 3rd party websites/apps like blackmart is also not advisable.
One more – don’t save card details in any app
Blank Dc/cc cvv using marker…
