Under 30k? That’s low-end. Or in the 40-60k range? The Xiaomi laptop (RedmiBook rebranded as Mi series ) would likely launch in the latter range contradicting the earlier rumours. Plus Ryzen 3000 series APU. Hard to recommend. 4000 series would have been a no-brainer.

Yes. Under 30K.
Already have this one bought last year in April https://www.flipkart.com/dell-inspiron-15-5000-...

Now, need 2nd one just to Work From Home. Don’t need the most latest configuration. Which one would you suggest that’s available on Amazon?

What are the main considerations? Working from home you have the option of keeping it plugged all the time. So is 4-5 hours battery life enough? Ofc in this range I don’t think anymore is possible.
Will you be using an external monitor so that display isn’t a factor? If not an FHD one would be nice esp. if working with docs. Even a TN one.
Planning to future-proof? A Ryzen 2/3k series APU or at the minimum i3 8th gen. (on par with i5 7th gen. ). Although for light workloads even an i3 6th gen. should suffice.
Good keyboard and touchpad would be nice although external ones can be used instead.
What about easy maintenance/upgrades/repairs?
Also what about weight?
Windows 10, M.2 slot for SSD in addition to the 2.5" bay etc.

Yes. 4-5 hours battery life is more than enough. I would also want SSD not only HDD. I need a good touchpad as I am not very happy with my current one. Screen size of 14 to 15 inch will suffice. Not planning to buy any external monitor. I can at max spend 40k (would prefer to spend even less). I prefer to go for Dell or HP. I am happy with i3 6th gen as well. It shouldn’t make much difference to me as i just need this machine to login to remote network of my company and then later use that machine.

Yeah looks fine. i3 8th gen., FHD, spacious SSD, expandable RAM, Win 10 etc.
32Wh battery doesn’t look good but still should be good for 4-5 hours at least.
Can’t say anything about the KB or touchpad though.

Performance wise a very sizable upgrade(battery life on very light workloads incl. video playback would be measurably shorter comapred to Intel) . But for something that would operate as a glorified terminal its overkill. Even an Atom based one would do. Go cheaper.
P.S. I don’t know about the software requirements but Android devices ( Cortex A-series vastly outperform Atom ) with desktop mode or R Pi etc would be very doable I think at least from a performance POV.
