Please dont bargain with them.

Try giving diyas as gifts.

Good plus1
I buy local hand made diyas, not the machine pressesd designer ones.

For rice lightnings no option from refraining from china ones.

Appeal to all use local hand made plain diyas.

No, there’re Indian rice lightning also available. More during, price might be higher compared to Chinese ones. But it lasts for 3-4 times more than Chinese.

All the years before china was discovered ,
for dumping cheap , environment hazardous , use and throw low quality products,
we used to use indian hand made lightings or got it made from our electrician, but now neither its possible for us to make nor are the electricians interested..

Shopkeepers also pass on Chinese products only,
if we insist , the product comes in new packaging but looks the same with inflated price .

But Your suggestion is undoubtedly good plus1 ,will try to go the golden way.

We used buy Chinese one, which would last 2 year. But then we bought Indian & we’re using it from last 5 years, it’ll be 6th year this diwali. Still intact, wires very good & not even a single led is faulty. Find a good Indian one & you won’t have to bring new one on every other Diwali.

Diyas are important tradition. You can do as many electric lighting as you want but it’s not diwali until you light some diyas. I don’t think people can celebrate diwali without diya.

That’s why South India calls it DeepavaLi.

We never use LED lights. Only local, handmade, mud deepas for lighting during DeepavaLi.

Right, you sound sensible unlike a lot of others here.
Btw, have you collected all Google Pay stamps? I was wondering if you could gift me a flower or Rangoli? Not to mention, I’ll return your gift grinning

People are free to think anything however those activities are illegal and can ruin people(s)/family(s) life. Some will say – no diwali (or dipawali) without alcohol or drugs. It’s their perspective and they can think whatever they want to.
