hello dimers, today when I was traveling to office through bus, I saw that bus fare has decreased from 15 to 5 directly. I personally thanks Modiji for this change as last one year bus fare has increased so far and this steps which was taken by Modiji is a very good step as so many people can’t afford auto aur ola in city like Mumbai where there is so much traffic

Mumbai BEST falls under local BMC which is currently ruled by shiv sena
BEST has been making losses for years now, and they have though of closing it down for years however cant do as 1000s of people earn thier livelihood and pensions
Instead of reducing fare in an already loss making enterprise they should have focused more on improving the quality, frequency and timeliness of services
And marketing it well

Agreed to some extent.
There are many scams which happen at top level of any organization.
Fraudulent monetary procedures lead to loss of the organization at different levels.
Many top level bosses actually don’t do valid work but are there to safeguard their personal interests and gain benefit.
This impacts and the organization has a short run.

It's my personal thanks to Modiji. I didn't say anyone to thank Modiji. It up to you to thank him or not. There are lots of problem in all over India regarding road, train, bus, traffic, metro, pollution, population, etc. This problem only one man can not solve. Today in Mumbai the auto drivers will go on strike coz they want to increase their fare. Today 18 RS. Going on minimum fare in Mumbai.

This is just another politics.
Don’t you guys think, these extremely low cost model of doing politics costs economy more in the long run.
I agree BEST used to charge more for the service provided, but ₹5 for ₹5km is unjustified. Subsidy is good, but to much is taking the economy backward.
If not direct, deficit has to come from somewhere.

BEST is a public sector undertaking. in order to sell it off (disinvestment) it needs to be first made a sick (financially non-viable) organisation. So give discount as much as possible.
