tips and suggestions to prevent fraud transactions

hello guys, in these days many people are using digital banking. but only a few people are aware of how to prevent fraudulent transactions.. in this thread i would discuss something about how can we prevent online fraud transactions. especially, i will share some tips i personally follow.

firstly, we must aware about these things:-

1) many people feels they were safe on OTP thing. they already know that OTP must never be shared with anyone due to fraud transactions issue. they never share OTP to anyone in the future. so they feels like they were safe. it is 100% correct. but, they should know one more thing. many debit & credit cards comes with pre-allowed international transactions facility. OTP thing works only on local transactions. OTP thing DOSEN’T WORK on international transactions.
eg.if anyone knew your debit card/credit card details including CVV then he can make transaction successfull without any OTP. so i am telling you to don’t depend on “OTP”. the OTP thing will not provide 100% protection.

Solution:- don’t share your card details to anyone. and, take a note book as personal note book. write the CVV number on the notebook. make invisible the CVV number on your card by using marker pen. what the benefit we got by doing this thing is public cc camera/spy camera will be unable to capture the CVV number on our card. CVV number plays important role on online transactions. so, we made it invisible on our card.

2) we try to protect our personal banking details maximum as posible. but, what about the security from bank side? what if hacker found loopholes in bank servers and able to theft all of our personal data?

Solution:- some banks are providing debit card on/off facility and internet/mobile banking activation/deactivation facility. search about them. learn how to use them. deactivate the internet/mobile banking service if you don’t use them for some days. switch off your debit/credit card if you don’t use for some days.
then, hacker will be unable to theft even single rupee from our bank account even if he knew complete details of our debit/credit card. because we switched off them.

not only these features. some banks are providing ATM/POS transaction amount limit able to customize (increasing/decreasing)
in my case, i customized my transaction amount limit 1lakh to 5k. if anyone got my debit card and trying to steal money then he will not be able to steal morethen 5k.

3) most of the hackers are making calls/SMS msgs to victims by using “spoof” technology. short description about spoof technology:- if i know your mobile number then i can make outgoing calls/sms from your mobile number by using spoof services on the internet! beware on it.

Solution:- don’t blindly belive every call/msg. if you got incoming calls/msgs from official telephone/mobile numbers we can’t say “we got genuine calls/msgs from officers. official telephone/mobile numbers were displayed on our mobile”
they could be fraud calls/msgs made by using spoof technology. don’t share any personal details like debit/card number, expiry info, cvv, otp, etc to anyone. including officials. also genuine officials usally don’t ask for these kind of sensitive data.

4) in these days, UPI frauds are trending!
hacker will tell you “sir, accept our request and enter UPI pin number on your mobile. the prize money will be credited to your bank account”

Solution:- actually we are not receiving money! we are sending money to fraudster! don’t confuse at that time and ignore the request. that is a trap.

some regular tips:-
1) don’t click on unknown links that came from sms/email. may be that was a phising attack link or virus/spy app download link. they looks like genuine bank’s website but they could be duplicate website for stealing our personal data like username, password, otp, etc.
2) don’t install apps from unknown sources. prefer to install apps only from playstore (choose trusted developers too. don’t install blindly from playstore too. while installing consider what permissions we are giving to the app.)
3) if you are using remote control apps like team viewer do not accept requests from unknown persons. if you accept unknown request on tem viewer then hacker able to control your mobile remotly from his location. then he can install spy apps on your phone. so, beware on it.
