URGENT HELP NEEDED REGARDING INTERNATIONAL FLIGHT BOOKING

Taking consideration of my past experience with Air India, they do not entertain name changes. Though I have tried for domestic tickets, norms might be more bluntly followed in case of international tickets.

All AI reservations require a valid first and last name as provided by the passenger.
Travel Service Provider must provide customer’s first and last names which are
identical to those in the customer’s passport.
Do not perform Name change or cancel the Names in the PNRs. Name changes are not
permitted on reservations unless entered for the purpose of correcting a mis-spelling
of the passenger’s name. Contact the Air India Reservation offices for assistance with
mis-spellings to avoid cancellation of space.

I have contacted air India before creating this thread but the customer care representative told me that I cannot add Kumar at end of name. i have to cancel this ticket and make a new booking.

please someone guides me how can I change this ?
If I unable to change this it would cost me 4000/ticket so total loss of 8000
If anyone faced similar type of issue please tell me how can I change
Air India is looting
I know it’s my mistake that I didn’t add Kumar but my mistake is not worth 8000
plus now ticket rates is also increased by 2000/ticket
So 8000 cancellation plus I have to add 4000 to new ticket
someone help me, please

Airlines do not entertain request to edit/alter booking names for passengers !

Reason →
Some agents would book tickets in virtual names since they can analyze the fare patterns and get lowest prices.
And then they would request for change of name to the Airline. Charging a premium for the same from end users!

This leads to chaos. And it had to be stopped.
Thus request for change of passenger name is sadly not entertained even Domestically forget about International sectors.

Personally,
I had got my name wrongly spelled in a ticket from Delhi to Tokyo.
I requested the airline, even visited their office in CP but no avail.

Ultimately had to cancel it and re-book a fresh ticket.

P.S.
Travelling outside the country, you can’t take any risk.

Sorry Buddy … airlines sector is most UN-controlled .. DGCA has no controlling power or say shit norms … few days ago i have paid 8K for last name change in the domestic flight , they were not ready to hear anything .. Even i was ready to prove using court based documents .. with written affidavit etc etc , but no one gave any shit , pure money wastage .

I have travelled more than 100 internationals flights…It is not a big issue .

For your name, absolutely no issues, because only first portion of of name is entered as well as correctly entered.

For you father name there may be a problem at the airport check in counter, If you have any valid document which shows his name same as flight ticket, you can argue.

Further if you do online checkin and go to airport then mostly no issues will be faced. Try to go last minute(but don;t miss flight, follow check in cut off time as well ) for check in.

This is the easiest way for you situation but little risk involved in your journey without name change.

u might consider making an affidavit for the changes in name ; that would cost hardly 200 to 300 bucks

International waters no one will give u an assurance but still u can try it as a back up n carry all your documents as a precautionary measure ; connect with a local travel agent he will help u out even better on this issue

agreed, worth taking such risk if its direct flight
