Saw this asked somewhere.. So thought about asking this here…(Not sure if this has been asked here before)

Even though everyone here looks at hunting down the best deals, was wondering what is something you purchased that although it was a little expensive… You still went ahead (out of your comfort zone) and purchased it still and you would definitely buy it again…

Arey, that was the first memory that came to my head and it was one of the most memorable experiences for me. Anyway, talking locally, I think Wonderla (you are in Bangalore, right?) also has a similar priority pass option.

For me – upgrading from local trains/autos to uber/Ola and from there to Ola select has been very beneficial.. Cleaner cars and decent drivers make rides much better..

(Its 1 year and still its working quite good)

Dimers are talking about paying extra (of course for quality.. don’t we expect quality for same/lower price)?. https://cdn1.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_eek.gif

Frankly I am not able to think of any purchase where I paid extra for quality and was happy with it

There have been several instances when I have paid a lot extra to experience the luxury/ better quality. I won’t say it was always worth it but 80℅ of the time it was. Mostly I spend.this extra on experiences (like traveling, stay, dinner etc etc) rather than purchasing something tangible.
Top purchases have been:

1) spending around 20k extra per night for 5 nights at Maldives resort during my honeymoon to.experience their best lagoon villa and beach villa. Equipped with personal butler, 1 button priority CONCIERGE service , private pool and a sun Deck which directly opened in the ocean… Meaning we could dive for snorkeling in the ocean right from our room. Totally surreal and amazing experience. I knew there is almost no chance that I would be visiting this place again so wanted to experience their best.

2) spending 19k for a night at Moksha spa resort in parwanoo. This included 1 hour of spa per person and this place is just majestic . The views and experience this place has to offer are incredible.

3) Spent 10k few months back on a adidas originals ZX flux primeknit sneaker (Mrp : 13k) . I have a thing for sneakers and have a huge collection … Though I have bought more expensive shoes in the past but these are one of the best that I have ever owned. This is the rmost expensive variant for ZX flux model and while the cheaper variants start at 4 k … I spent extra to buy this one for their PK quality. Totally worth it, feather light shoes, amazingly comfortable.

4) Spent 15k extra for VVIP passes at sunburn festival goa few years ago. Was total paisa vasool and back then VVIP actually meant VVIP treatment. Easy access to bar, less crowded party area, after party passes , imported exclusive liquor etc etc. This quality has diluted quiet a lot at sunburn now.

There are so many other experiences at some of the best hotels in India (me and my wife love to travel) … I can write and.bore you guys all day .

I also bought an additional powerbank from Intex for extra backup at a ridiculously low price from Paytm. Unlike my experience with other products from Intex, their powerbank has done quite well. The only problem with it is that it takes forever to recharge completely (almost a full day) even with a 2A adapter. CC @cybertechie

But if Intex is a premium purchase for you, I don’t even want to imagine what you were using before. https://cdn3.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_lol.gif

P.S. Mi and Ambrane powerbanks are much better.

I’m still using a mi 10400 MAH power bank which i bought 2 and half years back when they launched it for the first time in India. The little sucker simply refuses to die.Backup is excellent for a 2 and years old power bank and it charges fully in 4 hours with my Moto turbo charger.

Ones I can recollect from recent months is hiring a Zoomcar for my vacations than to rely on local taxis.

Apart from the love I have for driving, I like the comfort of having a self driving car when I go on vacations as I can travel at leisure without being bugged.

Most times I try to go on a road trip right from Hyderabad in my car else I reach the nearest destination in which Zoomcar is available and then go driving from there.

Most times I end up shelling out a bit more but it’s totally worth it!

@DealSeeker had a similar experience at SixFlags in SFO and I totally agree with the time saving part, especially if you are keen on taking multiple entries to rides.

Bro… Looks like dimers like @DealSeeker and @raghupro can provide some better deals than yours. Others might pale when compared to your experiences. Good to know about these reviews as it will help us to get to know about these things.

He has some amazing experiences to share bro, I don’t think I can match up to him. Lots to plan and learn from his experiences, hope he shares more useful posts about his travel.

The little extra that I spend happens in many instances bro, something as simple as spending extra 100 bucks to get a recliner seat at cinemas or be it spending those extra few bucks to get the best desserts in town as I am very fond of desserts. Can list them all.

I took the very specific example of Zoomcar because I love to go on road trip and Zoomcar is the best thing that happened to help me with that. https://cdn1.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_biggrin.gif

PS: The longest road trip I went on was from Hyderabad to Munnar covering 2500 km. overall. The craziest was my honeymoon trip covering 1500 km. Chandigarh-Dalhousie-Khajjiar-Dharamshala-McLeodganj-Shimla-Kufri-Mussoorie in 15 days. https://cdn2.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_toungueout.gif

Taking your example of Moksha Spa & Resort I assume you are fond of stays with good views.

Take a look at J K Clark’s Exotica at Dalhousie, stayed there in a suite room with half board two months ago and I must admit that’s one of the best views I could get from a hill station so far.

Another one is valley view rooms at J W Marriott – the walnut groove, at Mussoorie. We availed a studio suite The view wasn’t as fantastic as it was in Dalhousie but the hospitality and food is to die for. I had the best Quattro Formaggi pizza there, though it wasn’t in the menu the chef was kind enough to accommodate all my requests https://cdn1.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_smile.gif

@gambitrite Guess no-one can beat me in this:
Resigned from clerical positions in a Public Sector Bank and a Central Govt. Dept. at different points of time. Would now be earning 25K-30K per month otherwise. Means I spend that much every month to have the luxury of being idle. Now tell me who the richest brat here is. https://cdn2.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_toungueout.gif
