Bro these days MPEG 2 boxes are damn cheap.. i bought in 500rs only :p go to your nearest electronics shop and ask.for FREE DD DTH box . U can get around 200 channels on it ..

if i buy dd box then cn i use it with airtel antenna(chatri) or do i need to buy both

Yes u can use with airtel antenna (chatri). Just replace the airtel box with dd dth box

I am thinking of ordering DishTV . The plans are way cheaper.My requirement is SS4 + English news which I am not getting in any pack less than 330 and a la carte in dish tv with all the reqd channels are coming to be less than 200 in Dish TV and 250-270 in rest

I also bought DishTV with same concept.

Shopclues for 967, initially they activated for all India titanium pack, later I asked CC to change the package to south titanium and instantly done. Happy with my purchase.

I bought Tata sky HD from Amazon for 4850 under the HDFC 15% cb offer.. However seems I will have to return it. The installation guy came today and told me that my apartment doesn’t have permission to put disc on terrace and they can’t put outside window in house as they don’t have South East visibility.

If you want your local language channels, you buy a 99 pack and add your regional pack and you get what you need for ~160rs.

For an additional 225rs, you get ~40 HD channels which cover almost everything.

So for a net ~400rs, you get HD (which includes discovery, NGC etc, all sports, almost all Hindi, plenty hindi movies, almost all eng movies) and your regional channel pack. HD is a must if you have a large tv (which is common these days). Even SD is pretty good. We have one airtel connection and we are happy with paying 160 (after removing the HD subscription as nobody was there to watch those channels as my parents only watch local tv most of the time).

As per my comparison, no other DTH offers this much for 400rs. My local cable guy takes 300 without HD.

So, its stupid to expect to get everything for 150rs!!

Hardly people used to watch local channels mostly 4-5 on regular basis, additional to these 1-2 news channels and 1-2 sports channels when there is sports like cricket. If I include all these it won’t come more than 100, then you can add some more channels to cover 150. Infact I have 42" 3D Smart LED TV (don’t ask stupid questions like then why did you buy that much costly TV, I can download 3D movies and watch rather than spending on cable) , even my kids are not interested to watch on HD and they are interested to watch kids channels, I can include them in 150Rs and complete that package. Then what is the point of spending 400 and wasting money. Anyway its upto you based on your requirement or money. For me this 150 is more than sufficient.

Tata sky is best quality wise but costly. Increasing pack prices every 3 months

Can anyone suggest which is the cheapest DTH ? I want most Tamil channels and some English news and cricket channel
