Why is Amazon stopping cashbacks on Debit cards?

Is it because Credit cards means more money for the banks?
SBI has been very aggressive to sell its credit cards from the past 6 months.

yes in credit cards 50% people either forget to pay on time or pay only minimum due. so banks earn lot of money from late fees & interests. there is no such option to earn with debit cards.
