Real wood furniture costs a heap…Have all my furniture from engineered wood..Been 4 years…No issue..Got it at dirt cheap price from local seller..Even online 8k-9k for queen bed…One can always change it after few years ,if damaged or bored…
If u plenty of money, no doubt, real wood is better…Bht engineered wood are good cheaper alternatives

Engineered wood is artificially made from wood particals. So only problem is that it cannot retain/hold upon screws and nails well.
So if u have some engineered wood furniture and it is not being moved or shifted, it will remain as it is for years. But if the furniture has to be moved/shifted/lifted, the screws (on the edges etc) will not be able to hold the wood and slowly loosen, thereby breaking off.
Other problem with engineered wood is that it cannot be repaired easily. This is for same reason – cannot hold nail or screw.
There are special type of rivets or ring nuts for engineered wood, but finding them in market is not easy.
