Not in my case. Maybe I’ve never added eligible cards.

I got Gaana+ for 3 months from paytm. I am still in free period, how do I make sure it is not auto renewed?

Yes. They do. I was lucky that I didn’t have enough amount in my paytm wallet on renewal day. I saw a “Failed Transaction of 399/-” in my paytm. Next day I added a temporary Virtual debit card with 1/- as limit & used a 3-month free wala code.

I removed gaana from “Subscriptions” of paytm, still they tried to deduct the amount from paytm. Cannot trust Paytm on that side.

How to get temporary virtual card? I have to use it for YouTube premium (no payment just need to add the card, will delete it immediately later)

for ex. if you have a SBI account. Login to ur netbanking. There in upper menu -> e-card services -> Create a virtual card.

It will create a virtual card for u. Search google for ur respective bank. many banks provide this feature for safety purpose which u can use for online transaction.

Now even for coupons, adding a payment mode is must

Is it just 1 time use? I mean you  create a card, use it and dump it when ever you are done with it? And you can create many such VCs?

Where do I exactly see the date when my Gaana subscription is going to end / auto renew? I don’t see anything inside the Ganna app.

Does this automated charges deduction system also work on PayPal? I’ve used a debit card which does not support auto debit. Also there is no other payment mode set in Gaana

In my case, my card cannot deduct any amount until I enter my “verified by visa” password. Irrespective of entering all card details correctly.

Yes. They set it to maximum plan for auto-renewal. Cancel auto-renewal, that’s your only option.

I had some 3-month Gaana+ offer, after which they deducted 399 from my Citi credit card.
I had to argue with them for really long time to cancel that subscription and reverse the money. They just won’t budge and keep saying that turn off auto-renewal so this won’t happen next time. However, I also had 1 year Gaana+ from TimesPrime, so their baseless logic didn’t hold as they cannot charge me twice for same period, and hence they had to reverse the money.

Moral: Don’t use credit cards or Paytm on Gaana. Use virtual cards or any payment mode which is temporary. When we use offers or complementary subscriptions , these services like Gaana take permission (deeply hidden in T&C which we never read) to AUTO-DEDUCT money from credit cards without use of OTP or VBV pin or MCSC.

Thanks….even I have an year of Gaana+ membership from times prime so the subsidised price is not reflecting I guess

Was Ganna appearing in your subscription/authorized apps list in Paytm? If yes, can you write to Paytm CC asking them clarification

Which custcare you called to cancel auto renew – paytm or gaana?
If it is ganna, pls tell that you are reporting to it govt broadcasting division for your continuous frauds else they will misuse hidden t&c
