Insurance payments for others come under Third Party Payment is not advised
Premium Payment shall be made by the Policyholder of the Policy. Third Party online payment is prohibited.

Tax benefit available only for premium paid for specified persons

Under Section 80C of the Income Tax Act, any amount paid by a policyholder towards life insurance premium for self, spouse or his/her children can be claimed as deduction from taxable income. Premium paid for policies in the name of any other third party (other than spouse or children) such as parents (father / mother / both) or in-laws is not eligible for deduction under section 80C. If a person is paying premium for more than one insurance policy, all the premiums can be included. The benefit is available for life insurance policies sold by all insurance companies – both public and private sector.

Yes, as per act it should not be done from some third party account. But that is done to prevent money laundering.
Should not be issue with family members. I have been paying my mother’s premium from many years now as she does not have any credit card or netbanking.

@A2Zdeals I’m saying about here direct dependents. And I think for direct dependents (wife, kids etc.) we still get Tax exemption under 80C for insurance premiums.

Nice offer but there’s a fineprint, do check that out:

A Convenience fee will be levied on all electricity, water and gas bills payments made through American Express EPAY. This change does not impact majority of bill payment categories such as telecom, mobile, insurance, magazines, donations and other categories apart from electricity, water and gas. You also continue to earn Membership Rewards Points on all your bill payments.

The applicable charges are as follows (excluding GST* ) :-
Rs. 50 per transaction for bill payment up to Rs. 15,000 | Rs. 100 per transaction for bill payment between Rs. 15,001 to Rs. 1,00,000 | 1.95% of the transaction amount for payments above Rs. 1,00,000.

I have added TWO cards (Primary, and Add-on) in AMex EPay portal.
Next insurance payment (Standing instruction created earlier) will get deducted from which card? And how or from where exactly to control this setting-as I want to pay it using Add-on card only? https://cdn1.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_confused.gif
Valuable inputs required-if somebody has done this type of txn or has experience on this. Hoping that I am not reqd to approach CC again:)
