[dimmers can cause havoc and in simplest of cases; they will hinder a fan from operating properly/ as designed.
dimmers are meant for dimming. and in India we often find ourselves using dimmers meant for lighting equipment or bulbs and tube-lights diverted for use as fan regulators]

I hope people do not blindly purchase for use without checking which plates or designs they have already on premises.
all brands nowadays find it easiest to up-sell by creating minor differences but major incompatibility ’cross various models/designs even from the same brand/company.

if i were so bothered about the fan status i have w.r.t. others here then there definitely would be enough of those stats on my profile to make it difficult to render the page.

again, i do not want to dignify your comment with a response, but i was once asked the same thing in a similar situation earlier.

the explanation for him (and for you) is that on this old mobile with peculiarities of DD’s mobile site, both the buttons viz chat/PM and FAN are too close by
i ended up triggering the fan button instead of the chat/pm.

had my internal feelings of following been reflected here or if i was ever using the dashboard feature, then you’d definitely have seen many names on my profile like (but not limited to):
