What do you mean? If you mean amazon import tax they dont tell you anything now. While I know 5 years ago they would refund it if you paid extra.
If your return is due to an Amazon error you’ll receive a full refund, else the shipping charges (onward & return) along with import fees will be deducted from your refund amount. An item that is either damaged or defective when delivered to you will be considered as an Amazon error.

I’ve bought stuff via Amazon com directly too and have had the full deposit refunded back but that was way back in 2014 . Now with the new import tax rules I am not quite sure if it’s a good idea
Wouldn’t there be higher chances of getting the deposit back if we bought via Amazon India cause in that case they would anyway be getting a lot of stuff imported and they would have setups in place to evade customs for such small items

Amazon wont do that. Its the Chinese stuff we might get away without paying import taxes.
So basically no Warranty. If it dies, your 11k are wasted.
The excellent Crucial MX500 1TB for Rs 11.7k https://www.onlyssd.com/product/crucial-mx500-2... Crucial now officially provides warranty services in India so no issue on that count. SSD prices will continue to fall throughout the year and beyond probably. QLC NAND will suffice for bulk storage esp. as a Steam drive. Samsung 860 QVO 1TB will be released for ~11k as well. Should only drop down in price from herein.
